Yeah, that's like $60-65 Canadian now...
I'll still get it because I love Mario Tennis, but I'm confident Mario Tennis 64, and Mario Power Tennis are better.

Well it's obviously a small game when its file size is smaller than any other retail Wii U game. Razz

It's 888 MB to download. For comparison, NES Remix, an eShop game using 8-bit sprites, was just under that size. And Wind Waker HD, a GameCube remake, is almost triple its size.

...I understand file size isn't necessarily indicative of content but when it's THAT much smaller it's pretty obvious there isn't much there.

Man, the news just keeps getting worse.
If there isn't a huge free update, Camelot should go do another Golden Sun game, or work on that DK64 sequel the president wanted to work on, or maybe just take their time and develop a full Mario Tennis game for NX.

^ 100% agree. I mean Mario Tennis is fun but if this is the best they can do on Wii U, they really need to move on to something else. I'd love a new Golden Sun on 3DS/NX or even a new IP.

I doubt they would return to Golden Sun with a team of only 40. It just sucks how Camelot was rushed for the holiday season when they are know to include quite a few modes.

So unfortunate that the game was rushed. The huge lack of content and I think the file size shows that. I'd like to see Camelot work on something else after this, something Golden Sun related, something entirely new or even that DK 64 sequel the president wanted to work on like Luma said. This Mario Tennis just seems lacking every time new information comes out while the rest of the games look better in some way, especially Mario Tennis 64. I hope for a huge price drop on this game because I'd still like to give it a try however.

Anyone think it'll lack a title screen in the way Mario Party 10 did? I thought that was strange as it just had the start up screen and then it was just the menus.

Here are the final 2 character trailers.

    Spoiler:

I think Nintendo still has some things to show. They would have put out the the character trailers at a slower speed if that's all they have.

Looks like here's actually one gimmick court then.
Now they can get a new Direct out...

The website is up and there will be at least 2 more newcomers to the Tennis court.

I think Nabbit and some type of Mario will be added in an update if the 5 new character thing is true.

    5 new character thing?

I'd guess Nabbit, Metal Mario, Motley Bossblob, Koopa Troopa and Shy Guy.

Apparently the crowd in the stadium is the same crowd from the Excitebike track in Mario Kart 8 copied over. Nintendo was obviously not ready for this holiday season lol.

It's official, Camelot can't do HD games...
    That's just sad.

^ Luma I really hate that you're blaming Camelot for this. Obviously the game was rushed, but I feel like they could easily make a decent HD game, and certainly a better Mario Tennis game than this. The character models and animations look beautiful, and if they were given more time by Nintendo to release it next year they could've put more work into the graphics, give it more content, and not make it look like some lazy cash-in instead. I honestly think they tried their hardest to do as much as they could within the time Nintendo gave them, but with all those other holiday titles having been delayed, Nintendo just needed to put something out.

^I'm not blaming Camelot, they're one of my favourite developers, it's clear Nintendo rushed them, but it's obvious they had limited experience with HD.
