Iwata Passes Away

Well this is actually the saddest news I've heard in a long time. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has passed away due to a bile duct growth, which he was previously treated for. Source

IWATA. RIP. You will be VERY missed. It honestly made me so happy to see him every time there was a Nintendo Direct, he was always so excited no matter what he was showing. He made Nintendo a fun and lively place. I hope it continues to stay this way, despite his passing. Again, RIP.

I was watching Twitch Plays Pokemon when I heard people saying "RIP Iwata" and I was so confused, so I searched up Nintendo News, and I saw it.

R.I.P. Iwata. Your loveable "DIRECTLY" quote will be missed.

In similar news, Shigeru Miyamoto has been named acting president of Nintendo. Well deserved, but I certainly don't think he at all would care to reach this status under these circumstances.

i'm seriously sadden and shocked from this news. i can't describe any words from this, i'm just.... going to say rest in peace iwata. you're one of the great nintendo presidents and your nintendo direct makes things a little more interesting. nintendo forever <3~

Holy crap! I so was not expecting to hear this today! O_o

That's somewhat shocking... I know he was getting old but I didn't expect him to go this early.

While this just made my day go down the drain. RIP Mr. Iwata and Nintendo won't be the same without you in charge. I'm also thinking where going to see some shifting around now since Iwata was also the CEO of NOA.

It's been awhile since the news broke now, but I'm still in complete and utter shock and disbelief. This is such incredibly sad news. I honestly don't know if Nintendo will seem quite the same anymore without him...he really livened it up. It remains my favorite company, but he made things really fun.

This is quite the time for Nintendo isn't it...

Iwata will never be able to witness the release of the NX now. 

Speaking of that, I wonder what will become of it now with his passing? I don't expect much to change, but it's possible this could get held back.

^ He certainly was the one who had the final say in how NX woud end up being released, and the exact form it would take, it's sad it won't be exactly the way he wanted it, and that he wasn't able to live to see just one more console release.

But I doubt NX development will be much affected by this. Yes, this is a big deal, but Iwata wasn't the only one working on NX. There's a ton of people helping.

It won't be pushed back at all since other people at Nintendo also had a say on the NX and everything else.

So sudden.
This just really saddens me.
He was always fun to watch and listen to.
He took the company in a great direction...
I just can't believe he's gone, I mean, I was looking forward to him presenting NX at E3.
Splatoon was the last game he was Executive Producer then.
R.I.P. Mr. Iwata, we'll miss you deeply.

I may not have known him personally. But every Direct, I allowed him into my house & into my home. Where there he would tell me about games that were going to be releasing for the Nintendo consoles. And with every direct I saw him in I felt closer to him, & after a time I felt like he'd become another friend. Some one I could look forwards to seeing every year.

Out of all of the gaming companies, the only President I knew out of them was Nintendo's. So I became attached to him, because of his humbleness, & his kindness. And hearing of his sudden death.. I felt as if some one had told me that my best friend had died. Even now, after coming to terms with the fact he's no longer going to be coming to my home & being a part of my life, I am deeply saddened. I'm going to miss seeing Mr. Iwata.. As I think we all shall in some way shape or form. May he rest in peace. ;-; I shall miss you Mr. Iwata.

Oh no I can't believe it. I was browsing Miiverse and I saw a post saying RIP Iwta, I checked Nintendo news sites and there was the sad news. Iwata was such a great man and I enjoyed seeing him in directs and other events he took part in. I'm incredibly saddened by this news. He really helped Nintendo and I can't imagine them without him. It seems like a lot of people are uploading Iwata miis to Smash Bros from the looks of it, sounds nice.

Rest in Piece Iwata, you will be missed very much.

This was literally the first thing I read when I woke up today, it could have been better news.

At least he did a lot in his life, but one could have thought he would had gotten time to do at least a bit more.

He will be missed, I don't know what Nintendo will be like without him.
