New Music on the Way!

It was speculated that new music may be added to Splatoon due to the most recent Japanese trailer's music, but now it's been basically confirmed in an interview:

By the way, a punk rock band Squid Squad is currently popular in the world of squids, but perhaps the trend will shift a bit in the future, and a different band may appear. Please look forward to it.

So it seems new music will likely be added as part of the August update, and if the trailer and the fact that it's from a "different band" are any indication, it'll be in a much different style from the current music. (which is more punk)

So excited! I love the current music, but it's getting a bit repetitive after 100 hours of hearing it. We needed a bit of a refresh.

Honestly...not sure how I like it. I much prefer the punk rock style of the Squid Squad music, and this sounds kinda meh to me. :/ But we'll see.

I actually like it, it adds a different style to Splatoon.

It seems there's also more music from another in-game band called ABXY, and even more new music from the original band Squid Squad!



AWESOME! That's legitimately one of the best songs in the game so far, that part at the end is my favorite. I also am really hyped for Squid Squad's new music, punk is already my favorite genre as it is, and having more squid punk is awesome. I'm so glad they're adding all these different styles of music too.

I don't know, that sounds kind a repetitive.
I like the first one better.

^ Are you serious?! The ABXY song is infinitely better than the Hightide Era one. I don't know, maybe I just don't like how that one's kind of all over the place and I'm not a huge piano fan either. But still...

Well either way the new music comes in the update tonight so we'll see how it feels in battle. (and with the full versions...as well as the other songs there weren't even samples of, of course!)
