Splatoon Has Sold 2.42 Million Copies

So far Splatoon has sold at least 2.42 million copies! (as of earlier this month so it might be at 2.5 million by now)

I really like seeing such high sales numbers for Nintendo games, especially when it's a new amazing IP like this, hence why I made this thread. It's only behind Mario Kart, Smash, NSMBU, and Nintendo Land for Wii U games. (and Nintendo Land was bundled so I'm not sure that entirely counts) Very nice sales! I can't wait for the inevitable Splatwoon!

EDIT: It's also apparently outsold Mario Kart 8 WORLDWIDE for this amount of time since release. Looks like it could be the best selling Wii U game by sometime next year! (and certainly well-deserved too)

Congrats to them! That's an impressive feat  . 

Although, I'm not sure that a sequel is quite so inevitable: Team Fortress 2 has been going for nearly a decade now, and there's no sign of any "Team Fortress 3" yet. If Splatoon is similarly successful and holds its popularity, it might be better to just keep adding content to that instead of making a sequel.
