Multiplayer

What were your thoughts on the multiplayer portion of City Folk?

I've never seen it before, so I'd like somebody to tell me what it's like.

It's what you can expect from a Multiplayer AC game.

Getting the choice to go to their own, or them come to yours. It's very much a personal game, so it don't really set anything for you to "do". It's all down to you in ways you can have fun.

Fish with a pal, catch bugs, look for fossils, visit houses, all sorts really. But most of all... socialize, it's more of a great game if you kind of really get absorbed in it, talk to people exclusively on the game and then you'll get this more real feeling when they visit you...

The way you put that sounded somewhat creepy, but it doesn't seem like it's all that great of a feature really, if that's all you really do.

Well...

It is a bit creepy, and sometimes it does attract creepy-ass people. (Last AC site I was on... loads of wackjobs, if not all of 'em.).

But what I really meant to say is that... you wont find much to do if you're playing with someone you do a lot with IRL, it's more of a cool game to... meet people on, and be a part of a community of.

See what I mean now?

They also give you money if ask them.

I might use this in New Leaf if there is no region lock.

There might be a region lock, considering they've done that for a couple 3DS games now.

Pretty sure the 3DS is region locked all together, not even just for a few games... as in, like, for all of 'em.

That's not true, Mario Kart 7 isn't region-locked. (at least I'm pretty sure it isn't :L)

I did some looking around and I can't see anyone saying it is... but it'd be interesting to find out where you heard that, as if some games are region free... I'll start buying from the much cheaper US market for some games.

I guess it depends, but I know some people on here from thr US have played with those in the UK.

But... region lock has never effected Wi-Fi.

Region Lock only stops you playing foreign games on your console. A UK Wi-Fi game could connect to a US one, or any Wi-Fi game in the world.

I just noticed that GameGuy's post was saying that he thought it would lock out Wi-Fi... I just assumed he has a UK 3DS and was really hopeful or something.

I guess I got kinda confused then...I was thinking about a Wi-Fi lock.

I've personally never seen or heard of a Wi-Fi Lock... sounds like a stupid thing to enforce though, I've personally never seen it.

Something like that would destroy the point of AC.
