Here's some info from Polygon, IGN and Nintendo World Report.

Baby Mario is in need of help finding Baby Luigi
    - the Yoshis are happy help
    - one enemy type, when eaten, provides you with large eggs
    - these are called Mega Eggdozers
    - these eggs can destroy parts of the scenery
    - features 3D backgrounds
    - also includes an upbeat soundtrack
    - Yoshi can transform into a mine-cart or a helicopter
    - these vehicles are controlled by tilting the 3DS
    - these portions of the game are restrained by a time limit
    - music includes simple piano loops and an occasional kazoo
    - stork accidentally delivers Baby Mario and Luigi to the wrong house before it lost the sibling twins over Egg Island
    - Kamek strikes again by kidnapping Luigi
    - locations include a hilly area with giant smiling hills, a jungle area, and a mountain area
    - a small floating pair of binoculars gives the ability to scan around a stage using the accelerometer
    - two different configurations for jumping and moving
    - these options also alter the lock-on button
    - choose between Hasty, Patient, and Gyrosensor controls for egg tossing
    - Hasty egg tossing follows the same rules as the original
    - Patient setting requirs two taps to fire an egg
    - gyro control system allows you to tilt the 3DS to line up shots
    - 20 red coins, five flowers, and 30 stars are hidden in each level
    - first two stages are called Little Eggs, Big Eggs and Chomp Rock 'n' Roll
    - the first level focuses on teaching egg-thrown mechanics and the giant egg
    - when you throw a giant egg, you'll get more goodies for destroying more stuff
    - create a giant egg by eating a giant Shy Guy
    - rapidly press the tongue button to eat giant enemies
    - mine cart transformation appears in the second stage
    - World 1-6 is Bouncy Beanstalk Walk
    - this level features beanstalks that grow to reach new places, but include leaves that will hold your weight for only so long
    - 2-7: Hidey-Hole Hooligans brings back the Wall Lakitus who destroy bits of the levels as they target your head
    - 4-1, Hop 'n' Pop Till You Drop, features lots of aerial platforming and floating balloons to traverse
    - this level also features bubbles filled with enemies and bombs
    - for each flower you collect in a stage, you'll get one chance at receiving a medal from the end goal
    - when you obtain 30, the bonus level unlocks
    - option to send gameplay data to Nintendo

The 3D backgrounds sound cool but the rest of the info is kind of not so good.

Too many giant eggs, but I suppose some of that stuff is kind of cool. But why would you want to send gameplay data to Nintendo?

Well now I know for sure there's no way in hell I'm gonna waste my money on this. And the wings are just like the Super Kong powerup and the sort from other Nintendo platformers.

I was almost excited about this, but don't be, Yoshi's New Island has a multiplayer mode...but it's only in 6 minigames rather than the full actual game. So that's disappointing, here's the multiplayer details if you're wondering:

    - competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes
    - multiplayer games include Flutter Finish and Eggy Pop
    - Eggy Pop has you throwing eggs at as many balloons as you can to get points within a given time
    - eggs are spewed from a central flower, where you have to run over and collect them
    - this is a co-op challenge
    - Flutter Finish makes you use Yoshi's hover and hold abilities to flutter across a coin-filled sky
    - person with the highest score wins, as this is competitive
    - get the highest score by getting the highest combo of distance fluttered and coins grabbed
    - six multiplayer games in total, 4 yet to be revealed

So yeah, nothing interesting there. Nothing interesting in this whole game, actually. Razz XD

I've never been a big fan of any of Yoshi's Island minigames to tell the truth, I enjoy the idea that they're trying to implement more online gaming for their games, but really an online co-op is something that would be highly desirable.

Here's a screenshot of one of the multiplayer minigames:

So apparently you all play as Yoshis...it makes sense, but still I think it would be somewhat confusing. It looks rather boring though.

Well, at least according to most critics (well, all critics Razz) Yoshi's New Island is a terrible game just like I had assumed already. But I wasn't planning to get it or anything anyway.

Here's a few reviews from critics I personally think write good reviews mostly:

    Eurogamer's review

    Edge's Review

    Nintendo Life's Review

The reviews have been mixed and I'm still getting it since it's seems like a decent game.

    Here's a video review.
