YUSEI! I guess you predicted the future, just 2 or 3 days after saying you'd buy a 3DS if a new Yu-Gi-Oh game were to be announced for it, then we get this. Razz

The game is based on the Yu-Gi-Oh card game I believe, and features over 5,500 different cards to use. It will also include at least 40 characters.

Not something I'd buy, I don't generally like Yu-Gi-Oh, plus it's just a card game...

This isn't something I would buy, but my brothers (specifically "CombatHiro") would love to purchase the game.

I might get this game when it comes out. However I don't really like the new way the game is played in Zexal.  So if I do get the the game I will mostly use older cards.

Oh there's a new way? That's actually kinda interesting, I'm going to look into it. Wi-Fi battles does seem fun though. Razz

Yep; there is a new way the card game is played in the Zexal series using monsters that merge with out the use of magic cards; just other monster ones. Also I agree with Gameguy as I don't like the new cards either I'll probably stick to the older cards too.

That's too easy, I'd rather use the magic cards to merge monsters than just be able to combine them by having the cards. Razz Does anyone know how many of these cards are actually the new Zexal cards?

Right now I have no idea. Usually with the YuGiOh hand held games you start off by either choosing your deck to use or are given a preconstructed one at the very begining. So depending on how the game is you could start out with the Zexal series deck set & get the later cards as you progress throught the game. Sometimes not though. It just all depends on how Konami decides to do it in the end really.

    Here's the debut trailer.

It looks like you have to play as x character in story mode and use there deck.
However i'm sure you can build your own deck outside of story mode.

But that's just in story mode, I'm assuming at least in the multiplayer mode you would be able to assemble your own deck. Do you usually have to unlock the cards in these games?

Well there's a separate 'Battle mode" in most of the YGO hand held games that I've played not only in the PSP versions but the DS ones as well. You can construct your deck in an area outside of story mode as well as battle monsters & usually where you can go to battle against other wifi duelists.

Usually how you get cards in the game is by purchasing packs while winning duel points (which works as money in the games). Though SOME older cards can be unlocked by using a machine in the game where you can input numbers from off of the YGO cards you own or find online & can put the codes in after being charged a small amount in order to obtain said cards.

But yea the YGO handheld games are usually pretty good & from how it looks this 3DS installment kind of looks the same as how the 5DS PSP game plays.

It looks like every card will be there from the start in duel mode,

This is good news since I like using different decks. That is of we even get the game out here.

Oh I'm sure we will seeing as the YuGiOh card game is super popular in the US as of the last couple of years & I know KONAMI wants to squeeze every last drop of money out of YuGiOh fans that they can. So yea I'm sure we'll end up getting it; the question is when..
