What would I play the Gamecube version ON? I do not own a gamecube. Besides; I'd much rather have the Wii U & said game in HD as I said prior. Razz

Iwata has noted that a Wii U price cut is not actaully needed for Wii U, due to the poor sales for the Wii U basic set. (the cheaper Wii U model)

    Face Palm!

Firstly, the Wii U all-in-all has performed poorly, so I don't see that as a reason for no price cut. Plus, people didn't buy it simply because it only has 8 GB of memory, which isn't sufficient enough. Plus, the deluxe set comes with Nintendo Land for $10 less than if you bought it separately, plus it has 32 GB, so really THAT is the better deal...

The same thing happened with the Xbox...

Iwata said the Wii U is not doing to good because of there hardly being any software for the system.

But like I said they should just drop the Wii U Basic Set and make the Deluxe Set $300 and give the Deluxe Set owners a free VC game or something.

I also think they should do that. But there really isn't any need to give current deluxe set owners anything special, it's been a while since Wii U released, and $350 was a good deal for Wii U in my opinion.

Nintendo of Europe added this video on there youtube channel.

I think Nintendo of America should put this on tv so they could show more people what Wii U games are coming.

I think it would be to long as just a TV ad, maybe something on the internet like before Youtube videos. (although I use adblock so I wouldn't see it)

Nintendo Life wrote:After months of speculation and increasing doubt, Nintendo has taken the plunge and confirmed an official price cut on the Wii U Deluxe 32GB model. This takes the form of a new "suggested retail price" of $299 in North America, a $50 cut announced today at the GameStop Managers Show in Las Vegas; the new price will begin on 20th September.
I doubted it before, but with the price being only $300, Wii U might perform better than the Playstation 4 this holiday season.

So long Wii U Basic Set.

Nintendo really needed to do because now the Wii U is $100 less then the PS4 and if the price stayed at $350 Nintendo would have more trouble moving Wii U's in the holiday season.

    Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to write with your questions regarding a Wii U Ambassador program. The Ambassador program is only available to any Nintendo 3DS owner who purchased their system before August 12, 2011 and there are no plans for a similar program for Wii U.

I know that this isn’t what you were hoping for, but we appreciate your support of our products now and in the future. I also want to assure you that your comments will be added to our records and made available for other departments at the company to use as they see fit.

    Sincerely,
    Nintendo of America Inc.
    Helena Toledo
I really wasn't expecting a Wii U ambassador program, the price cut wasn't really that long after the Wii U's launch anyway. Plus we already get all those 30 cent virtual console games, so it's not like we got nothing out of buying the console early. I know I don't regret getting my Wii U.

Reggie Fils-Aime has explained why Wii U only offers 32 GB of memory when compared to it's competitors.

Reggie Fils-Aime wrote:We believe it’s important to provide a value to the consumer. [Memory] gets cheaper, right? Minute by minute, day by day. And so why lock the consumer into some high price point just because it happens to have 120 gigs of memory? Our mentality is, let’s sell a system that has enough memory to get you going, and then if you love digital downloads and you want to keep downloading content, buy a separate external hard drive. The price of it today is a hell of a lot cheaper than it was six months ago. And that’s a value benefit that the consumer should enjoy. It’s a different mentality than our competitors, but I’ll tell you, ours is much more consumer-oriented given the reduction in ongoing price, of the cost of memory.
That makes perfect sense, but I think that they should have an option of a 32 GB model for Wii U and perhaps a 120 GB model or more, rather than having to purchase an external hard drive.

Apparently Japan is getting two new bundles, one is only (approximately) US$350 and includes New Super Mario Bros. U, Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, and Wii Karaoke U. Granted, all of those games probably suck, that's still A LOT for such a cheap price. :PThe other one doesn't have Wii Karaoke U, and is (approximately) US$330.

There is no news on whether these will come to the US, but if they do, it's a pretty good deal.

This is a good idea. Though they should have made the games on disks and not ready to go on the system.

Yeah...I wonder how much data they'll take up? You wouldn't be able to fit much else on your Wii U.

I also think there should be a bundle with some of the better Wii U games like Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and maybe something to help people understand the "Wii U Difference" like Nintendo Land or Wii Party U.

Not many people want those games so it makes sense they they picked Wii Fit U, New Super Mario Bros U and Wii Party U. I would like to a bundle that has 3D World, Wind Waker HD and Wii Party U because I think it would make Nintendo more cash. Even though 2D Mario sells more then 3D Mario.
