Miyamoto says more Metroid games will likely come in the future

Shigeru Miyamoto says that more Metroid games will likely be developed in the future, with Retro Studios most likely to create the next game in the series.

Shigeru Miyamoto wrote:I definitely think it’s a franchise that we value and we certainly want to see what we can do with it in the future. And, obviously, Retro is a very high priority in terms of the potential team that would be considered for working on a Metroid game.

Of course there will be another Metroid game, but Retro is currently working on Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, so they're probably not thinking about it now. Of course, the game does release pretty soon, so they could be working on a new Metroid game next.

I know Nintendo will probably not allow Team Ninja to help, nobody would buy the game.
