Future 3DS Games?

The 3DS seems to have used many games already, but being only a little over 3 years into it's lifespan, there must be more games to come. However, after Smash Bros. and Pokemon release this year, all that's left (first party) is Codename S.T.E.A.M. and that Pikachu detective game. What other 3DS games do you think we'll see in the future? Here's my ideas:

- Majora's Mask 3D (it's a remake, but I do still think it'll happen)
- New Zelda game (this is likely, as all previous handhelds except the Game Boy had 2 Zelda games)
- 2D Metroid game (I say 2D because I think a 3D one is better suited towards Wii U)
- Kirby spin-off game (the DS had like 3 of these, so it makes sense)
- New Golden Sun (there hasn't been one for awhile, so hopefully this will happen)
- Kid Icarus: Uprising sequel (I loved this game, and while a Wii U sequel is more likely, I'd prefer a 3DS one)
- Another new IP

Sure, there are plenty of other games they could have on 3DS, these are just the games I think are most likely at this time. I'm not sure how long the 3DS will last, probably 5-6 years, so there will likely be more games. This is just what I want to see.

I think only one of the Zelda games will happen since Nintendo will likely want to bring out a new Zelda game in the first year of the next Handheld and we have to factor in other Wii U Zelda games.

A 2D Metroid seems like something that will happen.

The Kirby Fighters Z and King Dedede's Drum Dash Z Rush might be the only Kirby spinoffs since Hal Labs is likely working on a main Kirby game for the Wii U.

Golden Sun's story is likely done. So I don't see the team making a forth game.

A Kid Icarus: Uprising 2 likely would not happen anytime soon unless a third party studio makes it.

I think a Wario Ware game would work great on the 3DS.

If the 3DS is the focus of handhelds for 3 more years I can see a Mario & Luigi 5 since there were 2 of them on the 3DS after all.

Maybe a Super Princess Peach 2 since the team behind that game has not worked on any games since the DS.

Pokemon Z.

We know that there's a new 3D Mario game in the works so it might be for the 3DS.

Monolith Soft's smaller team is working on a 3DS game. It might be a new IP from them.

Oh really? Monolith is working on a 3DS game? I thought they'd have everyone on Xenoblade Chronicles X development considering how that game is likely huge. I wonder what it is.

Fantasy Life. Nintendo's take on Rune Factory which personally I'm very excited for, since RF4 didn't make it over here.

Neverland the Rune Factory developers went under just after the NA release of RF4, so any EU release was blown to pieces shortly afterwards. Also when Nintendo do their take on an established sub-genre they usually make it unique enough to be it's own thing, and it took two years to get here. Love a bit of translating graft.

I'd say we'll get Pokemon Z or at least Pokemon A & B. I'd also say that we might see another Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game seeing as there were 3 released to the DS prior. I'd also be willing to guesstimate that another Mario & Luigi RPG is in the making as well, since there are two DS titles made prior to the 3DS title that released.

I also agree with the 3DS Zelda title being in development, & anything obvious that would release as a future title. xp

Huh, I never heard about that. It sucks that the game didn't get released over there before they went out of business though. Maybe another company will buy the franchise?

Yeah, Pokemon Z will probably happen, I actually meant to include that in my original post.

I'm hoping that eventually we'll get Ni No Kuni for the 3DS since the game did start out on the DS but ended up releasing to the PS3.

^ A DS version was released though, the PS3 one came afterwards. So there could be a 3DS sequel to the DS version in the future.

Yea, just not in NA or EU though. xp But from what I can tell the PS3 version is FAR more superior to the DS version. xp Anywho.. Other 3DS games I would love to see are GC remakes as 3DS titles; now that would be awesome sauce!

^ Well somehow I never read your post. I think GCN remakes would be pretty cool, but I wish they'd just release the original versions on Wii U Virtual Console instead. The 3DS already has plenty of remakes, Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, DKCR 3D, Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, and probably Majora's Mask 3D in the future. I think it would be overdoing it with GCN remakes too, but the 3DS could definitely handle it.
