^ Maybe Mario as well, though Toad is probably more likely anyway.

Re: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
It makes no sense to me why they would use different colored Luigi's instead of using 3 of the many characters in the series...perhaps Waluigi could at least be one. But it dtill looks fun nonetheless.

Re: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
There goes my hope for Toad being a major character. -.-
So Luigi is a species now as well? Fascinating. Online play does seem cool though.

Re: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
I love the way you put it...
I wouldn't say he's a 'species' though, they just color swapped his clothing so you could play multiplayer, but without them having to create new character models and such.
That's how I'd assume it anyway.

Re: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
Haha XD.
I was just kidding with that part. Yeah, it's true that the "Luigi species" are just for the sake of multiplayer to represent each player's character (who is Luigi). Still it would have been nice to see more characters.

Re: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
Hm, the trailers did say the multiplayer was 'Hunter Mode'. It's possible that there could be other multiplayer modes as well. (Well, probably not, just a suggestion.)

Re: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
Story info
It seems like the Toads play a big role in the story.
- Spoiler:
The Dark Moon that hangs over Evershade Valley seems to have a calming effect on the ghosts that reside there.
For this reason, Professor E. Gadd has been studying the friendly ghosts
that are unique to the area. But when the Dark Moon suddenly breaks
apart and falls into the valley below, the once-friendly ghosts become
hostile, trapping E. Gadd in his bunker!
Luigi, who is at home watching TV, gets a big surprise when E. Gadd
suddenly shows up on his TV screen and drags Luigi kicking and screaming
through the screen into the Evershade Valley! After a little
persuasion, Luigi agrees to help E. Gadd on his quest to find the Dark
Moon pieces and restore it to its rightful place in the sky.
Mansion details
You'll explore massive mansions across the Evershade Valley, each with
their own distinct features and challenges. The pieces of the Dark Moon
are scattered therein, so you'll need to explore every ghoul-infested
nook and cranny of each haunted mansion. Hope you don't spook easily!
Character profiles
PROFESSOR E. GADD
Known for his paranormal research and plethora of wild inventions,
Professor E. Gadd just needs someone crazy enough to put them to the
test.
LUIGI
Mario's timid brother may not have as much time in the spotlight... but
he sure does know a thing or two about dealing with ghosts, even if he
is clumsy and scared.
TOADS
Before the Dark Moon shattered into pieces, a crew of Toads were
assisting Professor E.Gadd from within the mansions. Since then, all
communication with the Toads has been lost. Do you think they're in
trouble?
Ghost details
GREENIE
They may be the mildest of the spooks you'll encounter, but they can
still cause quite a bit of trouble for our intrepid ghost hunter
SLAMMER
Watch out! These heavy hitting brutes are so rough and tough that when they clap their hands, it creates a crushing energy wave.
HIDER
Hiders are such obnoxious and cowardly creeps. They love to hide behind furniture, pelting you with objects as you walk by.
POLTERGEIST
That big, bulging brain gives the Poltergeist the rare power to manipulate objects with his mind.
GOBBER
Ginormous Gobbers love to make a mess. They'll throw gross globs of paranormal goo at you every chance they get.
POLTERPUP
These playful canines have a strange and voracious appetite. They tend
to eat objects that you need, running off with them at exactly the wrong
moment.
BOOS
Boos are found in haunted houses around the Mushroom Kingdom, but here
in Evershade Valley, they're extra skilled at hiding out. Can you catch
them all?
KING BOO
The orchestrator of the Dark Moon debacle is as regal as he is round...Can you bring peace back to Evershade Valley?
Gameplay details
THE NEW AND IMPROVED POLTERGUST 5000!
With this super-powered vacuum cleaner, you can interact with almost
every object in the mansions.Suck up window curtains and coins in
hard-to-reach places, or use the blow function to make ceiling fans
spin.
Earn upgrades with the treasure you find in the mansions to make it more powerful as you progress.
Oh—did we mention that it can capture ghosts???
SHINE A LIGHT ON THE SITUATION
You can stun pesky ghosts with the Strobulb expansion for your
Poltergust 5000, and reveal hidden illusions with the new Dark-Light
Device. Both are crucial to making it through the mansions unspooked.
HOW TO CATCH GHOSTS
1. STUN THEM
Flash your Strobulb at the ghost to stop him in his tracks.
2. VACUUM THEM UP
Use the Poltergust 5000 to vacuum up the stunned ghost's energy.
3. DRAIN THEIR POWER
Once the number above the ghost's head reaches zero, he goes bye-bye!
SOLVE PUZZLES
These twisted mansions are teeming with blocked and locked doors. Thanks
to the features of the Poltergust 5000, you can manipulate almost every
object in the room. When in doubt, perhaps Professor E. Gadd can lend a
helping hand...
Multiplayer breakdown
MULTIPLAYER MODES
HUNTER
Use teamwork and your trusty Poltergust 5000 to completely rid the floor of ghosts before the clock strikes zero.
RUSH
It's a race to the top! Pick up clocks along the way to extend your time, as you rush to ascend the tower before time runs out.
POLTERPUP
Track down those pesky Polterpups with your Dark-Light Device and capture them all before time runs out.
It seems like the Toads play a big role in the story.

Re: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon
^ Doesn't really seem so to me, considering you don't even know where they are.
