^That's what happens when you outsource your figures to crap manufacturers. Oh, wait this is Nintendo were talking about; so I'm not surprised that the amiibo's kinda look like crap. xD

^ What? The ones Nintendo made looked fantastic, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

Re: Amiibo
So this is what you'd call this 'quality work' eh?
I have a Link figure that could outshine that amiibo. xpGameguy1996 wrote:

Re: Amiibo
^ Yes, I'd say the ones on the left that Nintendo made are of pretty high quality honestly. But I guess it only makes sense that the quality would go down to make them cheaper.

Re: Amiibo
No one has mentioned the Marth ones?
Did he bend the Falchion when he stabbed Medeus or something?
Also, I think they might have changed the quality to make them cheaper and more difficult to break. If they're supposed to be carried around while visiting other people, they need to be a bit sturdy. I have less of a reason to get them now though, I was just going to use them as trophies to put in a shelf anyway.

Re: Amiibo
It's looks like we now know what amiibo's from wave 1 will work in other games and 3 more amiibo's seem to be on the way.
It's kind of strange how the Villager and Link ones don't work for Mario Kart 8 but, I'm sure they will be patched in at a later date. The Tom Nook, Samus and Bowser ones might be hinting at games coming out next year though.

Re: Amiibo
Ooh, I hope that's hinting towards Animal Crossing Wii U! I mean, of course it's expected that they'd develop a new one for Wii U, but it's just nice to see little hints like this. I wonder if that Samus one could also be hinting at a Metroid game too, since she's in a different pose from her Smash Bros. Amiibo...

Re: Amiibo
According to Iwata, Nintendo has plans for different types of Amiibos, including ones that aren't even figures. They'd like to have smaller/cheaper Amiibo, and are considering using cards and possibly other objects as Amiibo. Source
I think this sounds great. I'm wondering if they'd do a "universal" Amiibo, that could be used with games that only use Amiibo for one purpose and are only compatible with one Amiibo. I can understand with something like Smash Bros. that they'd need the characters, but couldn't there just be one Amiibo for a game that's just using it for storage purposes or something like that?
And the cards remind me of the E-Reader...

Re: Amiibo
Well being that I am a Skylanders owner & gamer I'm guessing that the other figures will most likely be items or area's that could be used in the game. Now realize that I'm just guessing from playing Skylanders games & what I've seen in the game with the use of other figures that aren't the characters. Nintendo could use this same idea & release say for example: Master Sword, which could be used in any game where Link is present to give Link a boost in attack power. Or even create a Hyrule castle model for use with Smash Bro's that could be used to change out the set area that maybe some one set already before challenging their online friend. The background then would change with the use of the Hyrule castle amiibo once it's used & the background would then change to that setting. Now I could be wrong about this; but it's the best idea that I could come up with for an example of what Nintendo could perceivably do down the line.

Re: Amiibo
^ That would be interesting, but considering Nintendo did say they don't plan to use Amiibo in the same way as other companies have done similar products (like Skylanders as you said), it makes me think they won't do that. But I guess we'll have to wait and see. They haven't really announced how Amiibo is even going to be used in games outside of Smash Bros.

Re: Amiibo
^Yea, well Nintendo says all of that now but who's to say they won't just do that anyway? (I'm just sayin.) But yea, we won't know what Nintendo has planned at all. The only way we will know I guess is when the other amiibo's are released & then Nintendo explains how they're used on it's website, in the packaging or whatever. *shrugs*

Re: Amiibo
it looks like Link's Amiibo will also work with Mario Kart 8 on day 1?
I think this was a mistake and Nintendo PR posted the Link picture when it should be DK.

Re: Amiibo
Here's the Amiibo trailers for Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors.
It's cool how your Mii gets a outfit based off of the character but, Zelda, Diddy, Pit, Marth, Wii Fit Trainer and Little Mac should have not been left out. The Zelda Amiibo should have also given you an item in Hyrule Warriors.

Re: Amiibo
I find it strange how Amiibo works in Hyrule Warriors, but that's still pretty cool. I'm thinking I'm going to have to buy Amiibo now, these features are too tempting. (at least for Hyrule Warriors)
