"Bad news," does it really matter what Toad it is? While I have yet to play it, I think it looks like a really fun game, so I think that's all that really matters. I suppose fans of the one Toad character would be disappointed, but really that just means Captain Toad can be given actual personality, which is all I care about in a character.

Anyway, I'm now home, so I'll be playing this soon, can't wait! ^^

Nintendo always did say that it's a different Toad each time so why would it be different this time?

    No, Toad is the same.
He's the first Mushroom Retainer, the playable character in SMB2 and Wario's Woods, and the common Toad House guy, he's been one character.

I've played through a bit of the game, and I'm really enjoying it, more than I thought I would too. But it got me thinking, this game should have a level editor. For some reason it just seems like the perfect game to be able to create your own stages. The stages are small enough, it's basically a puzzle game, and the Wii U Gamepad is perfect for making stages in games. (there's a reason Mario Maker exists) Otherwise, still a good game.

Here's what the Toad amiibo does.

This is the most pointless amiibo support yet since you just  track down the amiibo.

    Face Palm!

Why did they even bother adding this? It's pointless and does pretty much nothing...Well, now I know I'm not buying a Toad Amiibo. XD

    Terrible...
But my sister will still want the Toad amiibo...
    This is useless.

Well the amiibo support doesn't seem interesting. They could have added that without an amiibo being necessary. I didn't really care about the hidden Luigis from 3D World as I've only saw maybe 5 through out the whole game so the Toad searching isn't all that great for amiibo support. Would've been nice without amiibo but whatever. At least Toad gets an amiibo so that's good for him.

Yeah the amiibo support is really disappointing. Come on Nintendo, try to come up with something interesting.

^ Problem is, Captain Toad just isn't the kind of game for Amiibo. It seems like they're just shoehorning it in just so they can say more games support Amiibo, when so far, the only worthwhile support, and only support that makes sense, comes from Smash, Codename S.T.E.A.M, and Mario Party 10. I'd honestly rather have them just not include Amiibo support at all for Captain Toad.

Here info about the amiibo update.

Go Nintendo wrote:Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

    Features available on March 20:

Tap the Toad™️ amiibo to the Wii U GamePad controller for a special hide-and-seek challenge in each stage.
Watch as Pixel Toad runs into the level and search through the level to try to find him.
Tap other amiibo figures and receive 1-UP Mushrooms.

    Link, Link

I think this is the first time that where hearing about the tap other amiibo into the game and I guess if a Toadette amiibo is ever made it can be a Pixel Toad and Toadette hunt. Laughing

Yeah, this game got really boring after beating it.
I haven't played it since the day I beat it and I don't plan to.
    At least they're doing something.

Captain Toad Is coming to the 3DS and Switch in July 13th with some new Super Mario Odyssey levels.

This was one of the most underrated Wii U games so I’m glad it’s getting a second chance.

I bought the WiiU version tbh. I thought it was actually pretty good, much better then what you play in the Super Mario 3D World version of the 'Toad Tracker' mini game.
