Region-Specific Name Changes Empty Region-Specific Name Changes

Post by Winters Thief Zero Sun Nov 16, 2014 6:33 pm

There are a lot of games that end up with different titles depending on the region. This seems to happen mostly with Japanese translated to other regions, as the literal translation doesn't sound right in other languages. But sometimes other regions have different titles too, like Europe and NA having different titles.

I think it's pointless to change the name in every region. Usually the names end up way worse in Europe, so I do think the NA title should be kept for all regions. I just don't get why they have to be different when it's the same game.

    What do you think?

I agree that it's pointless to change the name in different regions when it's the same language but I think it's okay to do. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon sounds cooler to me than Luigi's Mansion 2 but they're both good names. It can be really confusing when they're completely different though.

I don't see reasons too, but some times, the English version might not even be a word in another language.
    There's different dialects.
And obviously in NES Remix, it has to be Famicom Remix.

I think it is pointless to change the names. Why does Europe jas to go with Magic Paintbrush when US uses the name Canvas Curse? Just uniting the names into one would be better in my opinion.
