Sonic Runners

SEGA has confirmed development of a new Sonic title that will use the traditional look and mechanics of the series. This game will come AFTER Sonic Boom, and is a completely different game. Source

SEGA needs to spend the time to make a GOOD Sonic game, seriously. I personally think most Sonic games are at least decent, but when the devs aren't even taking the time to develop a game, of course it's not going to turn out great. Sonic Boom hasn't even had a release date announced yet and they're already working on another Sonic game.

I don't see the game coming out until 2015 since the Sonic Team makes a new game every other year.

Also Big Red Button and Sanzaru Games are working on Sonic Boom and they said it will play very different from the main Sonic games.

Hopefully there'll be a Wii U version.
2015 at the earliest.

I just want to note that I hate 90% of mobile/smartphone games, but this is being developed by the main Sonic Team.



While they didn't really show any gameplay, we can probably assume it'll be a simple runner, considering it's a smartphone game and has "runners" in the title. Well SEGA's restructuring is already happening I guess...that's depressing.

Oh gawd; it's happening already. I feel sorry for Sonic fans all over who have to now run out & get a smart phone for the Sonic games releasing to them. [/sarcasm]

They've already released Sonic Dash and Sonic Jump on iOS.
They said they're going digital, but this is just a spin-off.

^ That's not true at all. Third parties developed both games and they were published by SEGA (obviously because they were Sonic games) This is being developed by Sonic Team and SEGA, just like all of the other main series Sonic titles. (well, most of them)

I actually downloaded this game on my Windows 8.1 to try out & it's not too bad for a free game. Getting used to the controls is half the battle for me though. xp

Yeah, it hasn't released yet and won't be on Windows. XD I can understand you getting confused though, all of SEGA's Sonic games available on mobile seem to have similar names...

Any who the other Sonic game I've downloaded is Sonic Dash which isn't half bad. :3

It says Published by some guy named Amin Elsemhy, so it's not an official Sonic game nor SEGA licensed.


Sonic Dash is pretty fun, have it on iOS,

Cool! But how do you play it on a phone?

^I've got it on my iPad, same controls as the iPhone though, you just move him and jump with your fingers.
