Retro Still Working on Wii U Title

Retro Studios has confirmed they are still working on a Wii U project, which is speculated, of course, to be either Metroid or a new IP. Source

I'm glad they're still working on something! Also, this just goes to show Nintendo isn't planning to abandon the Wii U or anything of the sort...for anybody who was thinking that to begin with.

I mind of hope they work on something new. If it's Metroid they should reboot it like they did for Returns since it could bring a fresh take to Metroid to get old fans and new ones to play the game.

Well this year has been a pretty thin year for games I'm interested in & my guess is that Retro Studio's is working on probably a new IP that I probably won't be interested in anyway. (Why change up the status qua right? xp)

^ I know, but there ARE still more games coming this year in general for Wii U (even if they're not ones that interest you) than any year previously. So they're obviously not completely abandoning Wii U as some seem to think. I'm sorry you're not interested in anything they're putting out, but it's still quite a bit of content.

Still; a new Metroid title for the Wii U would be nice; though it's kinda doubtful since they've been doing mostly Donkey Kong Country type of titles.

^ But I don't think it's Donkey Kong Country this time. I forgot to mention it in the OP, but this game is using a completely new engine. If it were a sequel to Tropical Freeze, it would likely just use the same engine, or at least that's what I'd think. It's probably something they haven't done on Wii U, which would make Metroid more likely. I also hope it's Metroid. ^^

My guess is that it's something completely new. I doubt it's a Metroid title or else they'd use the Metroid Prime Corruption engine is how I feel about it. Still I'll be optimistic... Only to get let down: yet again. :p

^ I don't know, it'd probably be a new engine, or at least a heavily edited one. It's a Wii U game, and Corruption was an early Wii game. But then again, I don't know the specifics of everything about it, you could be right.

I have a feeling it's a new IP. I doubt it's a new DK game, since Tropical Freeze bombed and I doubt it's Metroid (though it would be really nice to get a new one)
