Hyrule Warriors Legends

It turns out Twitter user Doctor Cupcakes got sent the unlisted video from someone in the press and he also claims Nintendo will upload the trailer on there YouTube page tomorrow. Wii see if he ends up being right even though he said he knows every game on the show floor as while.

I wonder if they'll even let him know the titles on the show floor in the future considering he leaked this...sucks for him I guess.

The game has been officially named Hyrule Warriors Legends.

New details!

- will have all the characters including the DLC characters from Hyrule Warriors
- two new characters in Tetra and King of Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
- new story elements, including one that is based off The Wind Waker
- this will focus around Tetra and King of Hyrule
- in battle, Tetra uses a pair of cutlasses to slice up enemies, and will excel in close-ranged combat with her blades
- she can also use her pistol to shoot down enemies from a distance and does so with pirate-like swiftness
- The King has wind-based attacks in his normal form, and what appears to be his King of Red Lions’ ship form uses waves

I'm most happy about new Wind Waker story elements, should be cool! I'm actually pretty interested in getting this...I mean, it includes new content AND all the DLC, plus everything else from the game to begin with...and it's all on a handheld. Like, I want this.

Toon Link is now confirmed as a playable character in Hyrule Warriors Legends! More details are expected at TGS.

Honestly this is a bit of a disappointing one, mainly because I don't know what would really be different about him. The Wind Waker is already a weapon for Zelda in the Wii U version, and it seems like a lot of the Wind Waker weapons are already in the game...

Aw man Wind Waker Link? He's my second favorite Link ever but I think he's a little disappointing with two Links already and the costumes of some other Links for the Hyrule Warriors Link as well. Beetle should have had a chance for Wind Waker characters if you ask me. Young Link was done well with the Fierce Deity Mask so maybe they'll do something interesting with the Hero of Winds as well? I hope he has hurricane spin at least.

Helmaroc King is also set to appear in some way. My guess is a boss, that would be pretty cool.

While it does make sense since he's the main character of Wind Waker and it might make some of his fans buy the game now. We will likely see gameplay at the Tokyo Game Show even though a Direct would be better for most.

Here's some more details on the new content:

- Toon Link has a sword-based, quick attacking style
- while small, he can send large groups of enemies flying
- Toon Link can jump high or use the Deku Leaf to attack. He’s a very technical battle type
- a new hammer item which lets him smash the ground to shake all the surrounding enemies
- Helmaroc King will appear in Hyrule Warriors Legends
- enemy can cause huge gusts of wind from its great wings, and it possess great strength in attacks compared to the usual enemy
- Miniblins (Wind Waker) and Big Blins (Spirit Tracks) are also shown in the various Famitsu screenshots
- Wind Waker will be added as a new chapter in Legend Mode with an original story
- however, Toon Link will not be playable here (available in other modes)
- Famitsu mentions that, with regards to the story, a new unusual event happens in Hyrule and Link sets off on another journey
- magazine teases: ''Just what kind of story will it be featuring the heroine Tetra and King Hyrule?''
- will be a number of new areas added for the Wind Waker section of Hyrule Warriors Legends - Famitsu shows Windfall Island, Dragon Roost Island, and Forsaken Fortress in its screenshots
- Toon Link (and eventually the other new characters) will be playable on the Wii U version, seen in updated graphics
- based on screenshots shown in Famitsu, it seems that these new locations will be available in the console version as well
- important to mention that there are plans for new characters to continuously appear
other than Tetra, King of Hyrule, and Toon Link, there are plans for characters that are still unannounced
- characters from previous works will come as DLC, too
- also information about a couple of new elements aside from characters and levels
- a new golden ocarina item is being added
- causes a great twister to appear that can take you to various Owl Statues you find throughout the battlefield. It might be an important component in time-based missions

I don't think the Deku Leaf will be much different then what other characters have sadly and the Wind Waker story seems like a sequel to the 1st HW.

The crossbow is still there so we might have 4 Links and I think we need a Nintendo Direct for the english date now with Miyamoto and Bill.

I would get the special version if I had the money for it.

So much hype. I know I already own the Wii U version, but I feel like this is a good reason to double dip. I really want to try out the Wind Waker content, and this would be a great game to have on the go.

New info:

- many players in Japan and abroad told the developers they would really like to be able to play the game on their handheld
- there had already been several Zelda games DS/3DS, so this was an opportunity they couldn’t pass this request up
- Toon Link, Tetra and the King of Hyrule are unlockable in Hyrule Warriors via a serial code
- this is found in the box of Hyrule Warriors Legends
- Legends will get more additional characters to be revealed at a later date
- devs spent a lot of time fine tuning the game in order to display the right amount of enemies on screen,
- one way that helped was disabling the 3D on Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo 2DS
- New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL will be able to display stereoscopic 3D visuals
- team have plans to make Hyrule Warriors Legends compatible with amiibo
- amiibo will allow you to unlock extras
- all the DLC characters from Hyrule Warriors on Wii U will be in Hyrule Warrios Legends right from the start
- they will NOT be transferable
- they may create more DLC if there's demand for it
- no challenge mode
- the developers are done implementing everything they wanted to implement, and they’re currently working hard on balancing and polishing the game

I'm glad more characters are coming, and the DLC characters being in from the start is FANTASTIC. So $40 for all the DLC from the Wii U version, which would account for half the price, plus everything else that was in the Wii U version to begin with, $60 worth of content, AND the new characters and areas which would probably be worth around another $15-20. That's $100 worth of content for $40, this really is a great deal, I'm going to have to buy into it at some point.

Of course the 3DS version cut Challenge Mode and it seems like they had to push the full power of the system to get the game running. I just hope the new characters are regular DLC for HW at some point.

Was Challenge Mode ever even used in the Wii U version? There were like 2 challenges and I couldn't get anything else to open despite completing both.
