    Mystery Game Show

Back in the NES days, there was no exact way to find out if the game was good or not, since there wasn't something like Youtube or Game Revewing Sites. This talk is pretty much a modern version of this- I will pick one random NES game and play it for the next few days, and upload my thoughts about that game in this thread. Here are the rules, though.

    1. I may not choose a game that I have already played or seen.
    2. I may only pick a game by viewing its title and box art.
    3. After I choose that game, I must NOT view any videos or reviews or something like that.

Anyways, this talk will begin after my vacation. Stay tuned.

Oh man, I wonder if there's even that many NES games you haven't played or seen. Although the NES does have quite a few titles.

I actually didn't play NES games that much, so I think there is going to be quite a few games I don't really know.

    Day 1
Please note I won't be playing a game on the first game, I will only choose the game that I'm going to play. And surprise, I'm going to play three games instead of just one game. Let's get started then.

Here's how the selection works- I choose a random letter by a random draw. Then, from the games that start with that letter, I choose three games that I will play.

Let's see how the results of the random draw ended up.

Wow, a Z...? That's a very interesting result. Let's look at the list of games that start with a Z.

Of course, Z is not a very common letter, so we got only five NES games here on the site that shows box arts for video games. So let's look over the games. I can't play Zoda's Revenge or Zelda 2, since I have already played those games.

That's good, we don't have to pick a certain game since we already have three now. Let's look at the other three games' boxarts to see what games they are.

All boxarts are from http://www.thecoverproject.net/, thank you.

    Game #1. Zanac
    Mystery Game Show DCiJgqTl7V5IbRv1XAlGYgSzxKz5umHMcP3AR-Mmn6w=w1280-h799-no
Zanac seems to be a pretty decent Shoot-em-up game. The game also seems to have something called the 'automatic level of difficulty' function, which I don't really get. It also claims that it is going to be different the every time I play it, but we don't know yet.

    Game #2. Zombie Nation
    Mystery Game Show UJmNmGwRY9o50I9oRupwtL2dZ3notVA7nEgl-BgFmeQ=w1280-h799-no
I don't know... the boxart didn't really explain the gameplay that much, since it only explained us the story. I don't think the graphics are going to be good after seeing the second and third screenshot, but we don't know until we really play the game.

    Game #3. Zen: Intergalatic Ninja
    Mystery Game Show FY2g4xZnJcAjKCSIoUx5wDXWHkXcBdlbiHbjdaQ90X0=w1280-h799-no
This game actually looks pretty fun to play with. But I think it also looks pretty hard, probably it was made by Konami and games made by Konami were pretty hard to play with back then. I am also curious what the '6 subgames' are, we just have to play the game to find out.

Anyways, we will start playing these games tomorrow. The order will be decided by the poll, so please vote for the game you want to see first. If nobody votes, the order will be decided by a random draw. Until then, goodbye.

Oh so you're playing all 3? Interesting, I've honestly never heard of those 3, so I guess I'll be finding out what they're like along with you!

I never heard of those 3 games before and I think you should play them in the order you posted them in.

    Day 2

Also, I forgot to announce this, but since I have to play games along with this talk, the schedule of this talk is pretty different from other talks. It works like this.

    Day 1: Game Choice
Day 2: No Talk since I have to play games
Day 3: Midway Check of all three games
Day 4: Analysis of first game
Day 5: Analysis of second game
Day 6: Analysis of third game

So there will be no talk today.

Anyways, for this, I had no way to play them since my emulator on my phone won't support three of them very well. Maybe I could do this later, but we are moving over to the next talk for right now.

    -Sadly, talk end.
