Donkey Kong Country Concept Names

Gregg Mayles, who is still at Rare has been revealing a lot of information about the early development of DKC.
He's said many different names were thought of, including Donkey Kong and the Golden Bananas, and Rumble in the Jungle.
But one I found hilarious, was Donkey Kong vs. Super Wario.

Donkey Kong vs. Super Wario? What? Wario didn't even appear in Donkey Kong Country! I guess he was originally going to or something?

These were just concept stages, at one point rather than DK and Diddy, they had DK Jr. grow up as DK, a new DK Jr., and the original DK becoming "Grandpa Kong".

Shocking. I can't believe the title Donkey Kong vs Super Wario was considered at one point in time. Now I would have loved to that see that happen. Donkey Kong Country is a great name for it but a game with Wario and Donkey Kong facing off in some way would have been delightful to see. However, we probably wouldn't have the Country series if that happened. The concept names are interesting.
