    Nintendo has announced their Club Nintendo replacement will be titled "My Nintendo", which seems to be very similar to what Club Nintendo was, but more connected to devices. (as in it can be accessed through Wii U, 3DS, mobile, PC, and future consoles) You will be able to purchase games on the website, see play info, etc. as well as redeem rewards. (although the reward system hasn't been clarified yet)

    Sounds pretty nice! Although I was expecting a pretty major revamp from Club Nintendo, it's still nice that there will still be a loyalty program.

    So I guess you can show your My Nintendo Account to the store worker for some points or something. Nintendo movies might be a thing as while.

    So it's like a revival of the original My Nintendo that Club Nintendo succeeded or just in name only? I like that name. This already sounds like a better replacement. The play info reminds me of the activity log unless it's something different than that.

    You can get discounts and the like on your birthday, etc. but here's the normal points sytem for rewards:

    We will start a new point program as well, which not only involves Nintendo’s dedicated game systems but also smart devices. With the Club Nintendo membership service that was ended on September 30, 2015, you earned points when you purchased software. With this new point program, you can earn points by playing games as well. Whether you have played the software for dedicated game systems or our applications for smart devices, you can earn points that can then be used on our dedicated game systems or on smart devices.

    Naturally, you can also earn points by purchasing software. With the new points, you can obtain digital add-on content, which will make the game you are playing even more fun, original merchandise or a coupon, which can be used as a discount for new software.

    Playing too? Awesome! I play a LOT of Splatoon so I'll be happy to get points for doing that. But what I wonder is If I were to play Smash more would I get more points towards Smash DLC specifically? Or is it like Club Nintendo where you get general points and can redeem anything for a certain point value?

    So..... Basically Nintendo is setting itself up as a rival to what Sony's doing already with it's PSN Points? Interesting, I never pegged that Nintendo would ever do anything like that. :p
