David Rise who worked on the soundtrack for Tropical Freeze seems to be working with Retro Studios again.

Nintendo Soup wrote:Legendary composer David Wise, who is well known for working on music for Donkey Kong games, is reportedly making music for a Nintendo project.
According to someone who recently spoke to David a few months ago, the composer said he was in Texas working for Nintendo. It’s highly possible David Wise is working on music for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a brand new Donkey Kong game, or a new IP that Retro Studios hasn’t revealed to the public yet.

My guess is that he was called in for some new music there adding in for the Tropical Freeze port. Though he could be done there for there new IP or a 3D DK game.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if a new Donkey Kong Country game is coming to Switch later this year, and that's why they're porting Tropical Freeze. (similar to what they're doing with the Bayonetta games) I feel like he's probably recording new music for that, because what would be the point of doing new stuff for Tropical Freeze when there isn't any new content?
