Why didn't we have a thread for the Wii yet?




The Wii is Nintendo's 7th Generation Console, it competes with Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360.



It's best selling game is Mario Kart Wii which has sold around 30 million copies.

Here are some questions which you could answer about the console.

MKW was the best-selling game? I thought Wii Sports was. I think the Wii is a fairly nice console, I always liked the motion controls, despite them being annoying at times. My favorite game is probably Kirby's Return to DreamLand. I liked it the best out of any of the 2D platformer titles for Wii, and I just love general Kirby!

The Wii is a great console, in my opinion. The motion controls work excellently, they are absolutely flawless for me. I have heard a lot of others complain about the motion controls not being very great but I just find them to be a nice feature on the Wii Remote.

I thought the wii was okay, having some good games mostly the ones by Nintendo anyway. The motion controls were fine, but I hate when they were implemented when they didn't need to be, such as games where they would make you stop to do something that has a motion control feature involving you to rotate a circle or pull a lever, it's a stupid way to shove down people's throats that they're using the wii. The Galaxies were my favorite games, they have motion controls, but that slight spin and bird flying weren't super bad.

It is but it comes packaged with nearly every single Wii so I didn't count it

I thought it was alright, I liked how it had backward-compatibly. It didn't have the best games though.

What did you think of the motion controls?
They're annoying, I would of rather use a controller to play it.

What is your favourite game(s) and why?
It is a tough choice but I say the original Super Mario Galaxy is my favourite, it was a pretty good game to play. SSBB and MKwii are also pretty good too.

It's a great console, but the motion controls can be annoying at times. Ky favorite game? Mario Galaxy! Warioware Smooth Moves was also a very nice game.

I have it, it's a decent console.

New Nintendo Selects games have been added, including Mario Party 8, Wii Sports Resort, and Super Paper Mario.

What's Nintendo Selects? I've never seen/heard of it before.

It's Nintendo games (well really only Wii games) that sold well, and are sold for a much cheaper price than they were before. (and they're new, not pre-owned )

Nintendo says the following about online services being discontinued on June 28th:

- Nintendo Channel
- News Channel
- Forecast Channel
- Everybody Votes Channel
- Mii Contest Channel
- Data exchange with Wii Friends via WiiConnect24*

* Exchange of Wii messages on the Wii Message Board, exchange of Mii characters on the Mii Channel and message/data exchange within some games will be disabled.

From 28th June 2013, the above services will no longer be available even if they are started up from the Wii Menu. However, services other than those mentioned above, such as the Wii Shop Channel and “Today’s Accomplishments” on the Wii Message Board, will remain available.

It definitely makes sense to remove that stuff (I never used any of it except Wiiconnect24 anyway...)

Nintendo Channel: I only watched the Nintendo Week show for the most part when is was still on. The Nintendo Update show is crap and I don't understand why they keep having Wii U videos on here.

News Channel: I would rather turn on the tv for the news or read the paper.

Forecast Channel: My town is not even on here.

Everybody Votes Channel: They just keep doing the some polls over.

Mii Contest Channel: I made a top 50 Mii a few years ago. Also I got over 100 Miis here.

Data exchange with Wii Friends via WiiConnect24: I never used it.

Oh yeah, actually I did use the Nintendo Channel for Nintendo Week as well. And for the everybody votes channel, do they really keep doing the same polls over again? If they were doing that, they probably should've discontinued it a while ago.

I also thought the Mii contest channel was called something different.
