    Wii U - Page 15 Empty Re: Wii U

Post by Luma Party Sun Jun 16, 2013 9:41 pm

"US gaming publication Game Informer has written a compelling article that suggests that Nintendo could turn around the fortune of its ailing Wii U console by releasing a brand new Metroid game for the platform. We already knowthat the acclaimed Retro Studios have chosen to create a new Donkey Kong Country game, rather than a Metroid title. Do you think that a new Metroid game for Wii U could turn things around for Nintendo?"
Many gamers don’t feel like they have a reason to own a Wii U. Metroid might give them that reason, Nintendo. Some gamers feel slightly burned by the Wii’s slow trickle of exciting titles? All the more reason to release a proven series for the Wii U. Maybe people are worried that the Wii U doesn’t have the graphical horsepower to keep them entertained, but games like Super Meat Boy, Minecraft, and Xenoblade Chronicles have pretty well proved that you don’t need bleeding edge hardware and photorealistic graphics to make an entertaining game. A Metroid game could also show gamers what the Wii U is really capable of – remember how amazing Metroid Prime looked on the GameCube?

I think this is very true.
Metroid would really boost the sales up more than Donkey Kong Country.

I do think DKC is good, but we haven't seen a new (real) Metroid game in a much longer time. Metroid would've been something much more interesting, I know I would prefer a new Metroid, and I don't even like it all that much. I won't but DKCTF however, most likely. Soon DKC will be just like NSMB.

Although I hate how they say "graphical horsepower to keep them entertained" I don't care what the graphics are like, as long as they're good enough to allow the game to be done. Obviously you can't have a new Metroid with 8-bit graphics, but I mean, in general, it doesn't matter. I honestly have no idea what the graphics of the game have to do with how much fun you have playing it.

Donkey Kong Country Returns sold more then the three Metroid Prime games on the Wii so if anything Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze would help turn things around more then an HD Metroid Prime.
For all we know Monster Games, Next Level Games or Team Ninja could be working on a new Metroid. If any team is working on a new Metroid Prime i'm sure Retro would help them with the game.

Some guy got to check out 4 Wii U games including Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101, as well as Wii Party U and Mario & Sonic. He talked with Gamespot about the games, so we technically get some info on very small bits of the games.

Pikmin 3 still seems awesome, that face minigame for Wii Party U also seems really cool actually.

Miiverse multiplayer will be coming soon, the hing about this however, is that it is asynchronous multiplayer. You will be able to download game data from other players on Miiverse and compete against them from what I'm assuming will be scores or something.

This is something that would certainly work on Starfox U and Mario Kart 8, being able to play against the other player from when they played earlier. Definitely from Smash Bros. for Wii U.

I might use miiverse more when they add this. I also think games like New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze will have something were you beat the person's time in a level.

Also in games like Wii Fit U, Wii Party U, Game & Wario and Nintendo Land you can try to beat there score in a game.

    That would be perfect Gameguy.

This is good news, Miiverse multiplayer should've been added a long time ago.

Does anyone else think there might be some sorta reward for beating them out of game? Like, play coins on the 3DS? It'd be nice to see those for Wii U, if they were used more in games available for it than the 3DS does.

    I highly doubt that.
It wouldn't be bad but I just don't see it happening.

But shouldn't there at least be some reward? Like medals that show up on your miiverse profile maybe...

According to Iwata, "brand new types of games" are being created for Wii U. Games that are supposed to surprise us with the way they use Wii U's technology.

I'm thinking they'll show off these new types of games by using the Wii series. I can't think of ways to use the gamepad other than ways already used.

Wii Sports U, Wii Play U, Wii Music U.
Since they said, "Nintendo Land didn't grab as much attention as Wii Sports" I doubt there will be a sequels to it.
They'd probably bundle a Wii Sports game or new Kirby game possibly in the next few years.
I just hope their "brand new games" are worth getting.
The inky upcoming games that interest me so far are MK8, 3D World,  New Super Luigi U, Pikmin 3, M&S Sochi 2014, the Yoshi game, Ray,an Legends and Sonic Lost World.
But then again, 8 games is good considering that will be like within 1.5 years within the release.
Possibly like Bayonetta 2 and SSB.
But they need to get games that's will attract all people of all ages like the Wii did if they want to outsell the PS4.
    Free Internet service helps though.

Yeah, and the eShop has tons of sales all the time, like the 3 Kirby game deal, 30 cent NES games, etc. having access to most retail games by download for free also helps.
