Mario - Super Mario Switch Empty Super Mario Switch

During the Nintendo Switch trailer a new 3D Mario game was shown.

It looks like a mix between Mario Galaxy, 64 and 3D World and there seems to be a hub again.

Idk the area shown that Mario was jumping around in kind of reminded me a little bit of the Isle Delfino more tbh. Still, I did like the idea of the Super Mario game shown. Hopefully more will be shown between now & when the Switch drops in March of 2017.

It certainly looks interesting, but I wish it would've been shown off on its own fully first, the way it was shown here was pretty underwhelming for a major new 3D Mario game. But it looks a lot closer to Super Mario 64 and Sunshine than anything else which excites me.

Good old Emily Rogers states that Super Mario Switch is further along in development then we might think and that it's almost finished. Also here are 2 old interviews that might say when this 3D Mario will be released.

So based on the first interview the game would have had almost 3 years of development. On the other hand Miyamoto makes it sound like the title won't be shown in full until E3 unless he was talking about the 2D series. So if Breath of the Wild needs to be delayed again it looks like Nintendo might be rushing this new 3D Mario out a few months early to have a big system seller on day 1 or if Breath of the Wild is ready Mario would likely be the big holiday 2017 title.

I just don't see why nobody seems to think both Breath of the Wild and Mario Switch can't release on launch day. Nintendo obviously wants the Switch launch to be huge, and having both of those games at launch would certainly be pretty big. And it's not like it's the first time a new Mario and Zelda game have released on one day. (ALBW and 3D World just a few years ago both released on the same day, and in fact it was only a month after Pokemon X/Y released) Not to mention Breath of the Wild can be purchased on Wii U, so some who might otherwise only buy a Switch for Breath of the Wild might just get it on Wii U.
