    According to Shigeru Miyamoto, Pikmin 3 originally started as a Nintendo DS/Nintendo 3DS prototype:

    Then Pikmin 4 should definitely be be on the 3DS.
    Wii U is better but I wonder what a handheld Pikmin game would look like.

    Do you have the Puzzle Swap panel for Pikmin on your 3DS? Because that's probably what it would look like. Razz The gameplay would probably be different as he said it really didn't feel like a Pikmin game. Perhaps with the touch screen controls, it was more like Pikmin Adventure.

    It would be cool to see a Pikmin game on Nintendo 3DS though.

    Yes I do.
    It isn't like a Pikmin game you're right.
    Different gameplay than Pikmin in my opinion.

    Hmm perhaps Pikmin 3DS could have been better achieved as a rpg game where in it you can have a party of 6 or more Pikmin in your team that the main human character takes around with him & have them pick up stuff with or even battle against monsters. Oh wait then we'd have a new form of Pokemonz. XDDDD

    Lol, I think Miyamoto probably decided to transfer Pikmin 3 over to Wii U because of the touch screen controls that he didn't feel worked. They probably used the concept for Pikmin Adventure in Nintendo Land, which most certainly didn't work or feel like Pikmin, just like he said Pikmin DS/3DS didn't.
