^ Well for those who simply want to play 3DS games and don't care about the extra functionality, paying the $100 extra for a New 3DS XL might seem pretty pointless, and I can understand that. I mean I personally would never buy the 2DS, but it makes sense.

Re: Nintendo 2DS
I can see why some people would want a 2DS over the other models. Personally I never cared for the 3D function but I prefer being able to close the the two screens. I always thought the 2DS' design is odd but still nice in a way.
The 2DS looks less frail so that could be a plus. I won't ever buy one but they're nice.

Do you remember what happened with mine? lolWinters Thief Zero wrote:It really is perfect for kids or those who break things easily and that's how it's marketed
I accidentally pushed my knee to the screen and it cracked the screen.
I'd still get a 2DS, though. I liked it. Cheap price and the picture looked more clear than a 3DS. But after the incident I had with it...I'm not entirely sure anymore. lol
I actually got the 2DS on a Black Friday sale for 99.99$.

Re: Nintendo 2DS
^ Yeah I was actually thinking about that when I mentioned it. XD But it's definitely less breakable from what it looks like. I mean, my original 3DS is still in pretty decent condition, other than a couple little marks and the slide pad cover being like completely off. But I imagine kids or those who aren't too careful would ruin them pretty easily, it's possible they'd still break this, just not as likely and it's cheaper to replace if they do.

Reminder that the Nintendo 2DS had a $20 price cut in NA and is now only $79.99! (including a predownloaded copy of Mario Kart 7)

Re: Nintendo 2DS
I've already suggested to some one who wants to get a 3DS to get a 2DS since they didn't want to pay a lot for getting into the Pokemon games. Besides it's a cheaper way to get a huge library of great games open to them besides Pokemon & if they find they like any more games then they can save up for a 3DS down the road if they find they enjoy the games for it.

Re: Nintendo 2DS
^ That's definitely a great idea! The 2DS is quite a bit cheaper than the 3DS, especially now, and for someone who might not be interested in playing all that many games (yet still having the option of playing any of them if they so choose) it's a perfect option.

Re: Nintendo 2DS
The 2DS should be fine for Pokemon since the game only used 3D in battles and $80 is a good price if you have a tight budget. With that said a used regular 3DS might also be a good option if they don't feel like buying a case.
