I've been waiting for this for quite some time! Plus the merging eShop accounts is FANTASTIC, we've needed that ever since the Wii U released. But either way it's still good that we are getting it now. :3

Hopefully for those with a 3DS the Youtube app isn't..."lacking".
By that, I mean it runs smoothly and doesn't crap out all the time.
I remember this being a big problem with the Netflix app for me(been too long. prolly a lot better now)...

^ I never had problems with the Netflix 3DS app. Maybe it's your internet connection?
I probably won't use it often anyway, but I do want to try it when it's available.

Well this turn of events sure is interesting.. I never thought I'd see the day where I'd basically be seeing Nintendo do what Sony already has.. Since I own both a PS3 & a PSP I have both accounts linked via my PSN account. Looks to me like the NNID is going to be linked all across the board..
I never thought this day would come & honestly... All I can say... Is.. It's about time!

^ Are you really that surprised? Nintendo basically told they'd he doing this months ago when they said they were well aware of requests for a unified account system.

Well yea because the more eshop cards that Nintendo can sell for BOTH systems the more money they make. So yea I'm very surprised that Nintendo is unifying both systems the way that they are. But impo; if they truly wanted a complete unification you could create yourself a miiverse ID online like you can with the PSN accounts via Sony's website.Zero Revolution wrote:^ Are you really that surprised? But Nintendo doesn't even care enough about money to think about that, they're just doing this due to so many people requesting it be done.
And I also don't think that Nintendo is modeling this after PSN, so it makes sense it isn't exactly the same.

I never said they didn't care at all, I just don't think they were forcing you to buy a card for each console just so they could earn more money.

You're right. You didn't. I'm getting too tired to think properly.
You said "care ENOUGH about money".
And yes. They aren't forcing you. It's up to the individual if they want or not.

Well think of it this way. With separate accounts you only have enough money on one console for perhaps one title. Where as if you were to merge the accounts then you'd have enough for the title you wanted. BUT since the accounts (atmo of posting) aren't linked together you have to put more money on the console that your wanting to download the video game from. Say you want a $20.00 game on the Wii U & a $40.00 one on the 3DS but are short cash on both consoles; you'd have to purchase a eshop gift card (or use a credit card) in order to purchase more cash to use for both consoles: thus Nintendo makes themselves more money. Where as if they are unified accounts; you would then perhaps need to purchase less cash to use in the eshop then before when they weren't linked. Thus why I'm surprised.
I don't agree with this.. I respect your point of view & you as a person; but I disagree with this statement. The reason I think this way is because Nintendo hired the media group that helped to make the PSN what it is.Zero-sama wrote:And I also don't think that Nintendo is modeling this after PSN, so it makes sense it isn't exactly the same.

I still think should have some kind of deal if you have a Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Like if you buy 3 games on The Wii U eShop you get a 25% discount for one game on Nintendo 3DS eShop or something like that.

Actually, with a credit card, you can choose to add just enough money on your eShop to purchase a game, so if a game is, for example, $19.95, you can add exactly $19.95 simply to purchase the game you wanted. Obviously you can't do that with a card because they're set amounts, though. I did this with Wario Land 3 and Shantae when I downloaded them onto my 3DS.
