TNFS Movie Nights!

TNFS Movie Nights were an idea thought up a few months ago by some of our members, but I never really went through with it. I was just thinking about it when watching a movie earlier, so I've decided to actually do it now! :3

So basically what we will do is watch a movie every Friday (or possibly a different day, I just thought Friday would be a good day to do it) using a website called DJ Plug where we can all watch a movie simultaneously. This way we can also comment while watching the movie and then post a topic on here about the movie so we can discuss it afterwards. A lot of people can post about it too, just because we'll all be watching the movie together. HOWEVER, if anybody has a BETTER or DIFFERENT way to watch the movie together, please post about it! I don't really like DJ Plug, but it's really the only thing I know about.

Now, what I'd like to be able to do is have members post their suggestions for movies to watch, and I will add them to a list. This will be the 'movie list' which we will watch the movies in order according to the list. Feel free to suggest as many movies as you want, I'd like to have at least 2 movies on the list at all times, just so we alwats have a movie to watch each week. We may wind up doing this every other week though, or just have one when everybody is ready to watch the next movie. It's very flexible, so don't worry about it if you can't watch at a specific time or something. In addition, movies regardless of their ratings may be suggested, but R rated movies will be color coded in red text. If you are uncomfortable with movies such as this, then please do not watch it with us. So please start posting your movie suggestions!

It looks like you need Twitter, Facebook or Google Plus to even use it.
It sounds like a cool idea but it might be hard to find any movies. I guess the Disney pixar movies would be good though since there for everyone.

^ I know, and as I said I really don't like the website, but it's just the only thing I really know about that we could use.

And do you have any specific movies Gameguy?

I think it is ok since it is easy to sign up in Twitter.
And I suggest Either the Harry Potter aand the Philosopher's Stone or the Hunger games. I think eberybody is old enough to watch them

The Toy story movies Nemo and the Monsters are some ideas for pixar movies. I was also thinking about the Batman and Superman movies.

I put Batman Begins on there unless you had another Batman movie you wanted to watch instead.

And it would be nice if everyone suggested a variety of different movies, but I will also mix up the list a bit so wd're not watching the same types of movies all in a row.

I find your lack of Star Wars disturbing.  Not only Star Wars; but the Lord of the Rings movies, Labyrinth (dir: Jim Henson), Dark Crystal, & many other great Jim Henson films that should be on this list.. Another great director whom I think should be on this list is Tim Burton. There is a Batman movie directed by Tim Burton with Jack Nicolas as the Joker, then there's Batman 2 with Danny Devito as the Penguin. Then there are all of Tim Burton's claymation animation movies such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, & etc. I mean this list could go on for quite some time. ^^;

Oh yea, another option could also be the use of Netflix to be able to do this too. But watching a movie at the same time as every one else is going to be near impossible. I mean what about bathroom & lunch breaks for those really LONG 3 hour movies? D: XD

Well the list going on forever is kind of what I wanted, just so we'd always have new movies to watch. That's a ton of movies though, I'll add them.

And I do think Netflix would be a good idea, but it would be hard to sync the movies together. That was the point, so I'll have to think about it.

I think I'll add to the list: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, & Castle in the Sky.

Wait, one question: does the DJ Plug service provide the movies we'll be watching too? Otherwise I'm short a few flicks mentioned..

Well having logged in to see just how using the DJ plug would go; who ever would DJ the party for the night would have to either 'rent' the movies suggested via youtube; or find them free otherwise. Which means that the movie's would be in parts if some one is looking to watch the movies for free.

It'd just be easier for everyone to download skype & who ever has the movie for the night would then start it. Skype is free & I'm sure that some one here could 'host' the movie night via skype who has the movies mentioned.

Another idea is to watch the movies via the Wii U call feature. I'm assuming every one has a Wii U console here; so the Wii U could be used as a way for every one to watch the movies too. The person hosting could then make a chat thread while having the Wii U gamepad pointed at the television while the movie is playing & every one would make comments about it while watching or via the chat thread if some one wasn't comfortable chatting online with everyone who's watching.
