Nintendo to Release 5 Mobile Games by March 2017

Iwata has confirmed Nintendo will have released 5 mobile games during the next 2 years (by March 2017)

Regarding the number of the titles, you may want to know that we will release approximately five titles by the end of the next fiscal year, which is the end of March 2017. You may think it is a small number, but when we aim to make each title a hit, and because we want to thoroughly operate every one of them for a significant amount of time after their releases, this is not a small number at all [in that respect]

This is a surprisingly small amount of titles honestly, but I'm glad, as it means their focus is still on titles for their own consoles. I mean, I'm fine with them releasing smartphone games, but I much prefer playing on my console or handheld, so I'm glad their focus is still mostly on that.

I would expect something like this:
Mario Party Mobile - Fall 2015
Donkey Kong's Barrel Ride - Fall 2015
Nintendogs to Go - Spring 2016
Pikmin Garden - Q4 2016
Pilotwings Mini-Flight - Q1 2017

^Awful names, but I'd get anything Mario. XD
Also, I think Pokémon wouldn't count towards these, since The Pokémon Company has released an iOS game before, so, maybe this whole thing will allow them to make more?
I just hope they don't go and shove Virtual Console onto the App Store, and keep their promise of only creating new games.

I think the translation was wrong since the end of the next financial year is March 2016.

I think the games will be Nintendo Dogs, Wario Ware, Pokemon Shuffle 2, Mario mini quest and some Zelda game.

I agree with you guys on the types of games that will be available. Nintendogs is the most obvious one of course, I can't see them not putting that on there.

All of the Q4 news was back in March though so it could have been kind of confusing like the Mario Kart DLC statement.

It looks like Nintendo won't be showing any of the games at E3.

That's great since it means 30 plus minutes for Wii U and 3DS games.

Good, E3 is most certainly not the place to be showing off mobile games. It's good that they're just focusing on Wii U and 3DS for E3.
