New update coming this Fall

This Fall a new update will be coming to New Leaf that adds amiibo support and other new content.

I'm guessing the there other support ties into the mobile Animal Crossing game and maybe now the Animal Crossing amiibo will be useful outside of amiibo Festival.

This was VERY unexpected. New Leaf came out over 3 years ago! This is pretty crazy I must say, but I'm happy, I can't wait to see what it adds! I'm with you on it adding connectivity with the mobile game, but I honestly assumed the connectivity would be with a new game on NX, not with New Leaf considering it came out so long ago. But definitely not disappointed! Can't wait.

That is so awesome! I have a ton of Animal Crossing amiibo that I can use when the game updates & I can't wait to see what new content is added: even if it might be for the mobile game.

I also have a funny feeling that the mobile game might allow you to move some stuff to the NX title when it comes out, at least that would be my guess anyway. ;3

It's nice to see that there adding new villagers into the game and the update must be pretty big if it gets a Direct.

I still just find it really strange that they're doing this. I definitely think the dev team has been working on the next Splatoon game for NX over a new Animal Crossing, and that it may come later down the NX's lifespan. Animal Crossing is an established IP that's known to be very successful, and although Splatoon was incredibly successful, they definitely need to cement that with a sequel as soon as it can happen. I'm expecting Spla2n to release by 2018. That's really the only reason this is happening. They have ideas and want to keep Animal Crossing fans satisfied for a little while longer.

Personally, I can't wait to see the whole Animal Crossing Direct & I'm glad to have something to add to a game I own currently; over getting no new Animal Crossing game alternatively. I'm happy to go back to playing New Leaf. Er, at least until it starts to get boring again. xp

So wait, the amiibo update will allow you to scan the amiibo cards of any animal you want and they'll move in for some reason? Please tell that's true. I would love to have the option to choose them somehow. I would totally get the game again and an amiibo scanner. The mobile homes and new animals sounds great too.

^ Yep! They will move in on their little mobile home thing and then you can go inside and ask them to move into your town if you have room for more villagers.

So any villager you want will show up in their mobile home once the card is scanned? I thought it was only for the three brand new animals. That sounds good. I really want to add all the animals I want with the help of these cards and recreate the town I lost. I will totally buy the game again, the amiibo reader, and the cards if I can move them all in.

^ Well, there's 50 brand new animals. I'm pretty sure the others can all be scanned in as well though, because that's what they mentioned when they first announced this new update. I could be wrong but I do believe that's what was said.

Should be interesting to see what the other Animal Crossing characters do in the game when you scan them in. Characters like Blathers, Celeste, & etc. They showed Blathers show up in the mayor's house for a moment but didn't expand upon what would happen after he was scanned in thou. Hmm, should be interesting to see that Direct when ever it airs.

^ It's actually been confirmed that the Direct will be airing November 2nd in Japan, as announced in the Japanese version of the Direct. I imagine it'll be the same date worldwide. But yeah I'm excited to see what happens with those characters too, as well as what happens with the non-Animal Crossing Amiibo that have been confirmed to be compatible as well. This looks to be a pretty major update!

Next up is Hello Kitty in Pokemon and Zelda. This is a smart amiibo card to make though since Hello Kitty things always sell like hotcakes and it would be kind of cool if the amiibo card was sold at the outlet stores.
