It was a great year when it came to games for the Switch in 2017 with a good game coming out almost every month. So here are my top 5 games even though it was not an easy choice at all.

Due to how much of a fan favorite game Breath of the Wild is I had to include it on my list. For me though there where many more games I enjoyed more in 2017 and I stopped at about 20 due to the memory locations being a pain to find, I will go back to the game once I clear out my backlog though and with the DLC content this is a long 130 hour game if your going for 100%.

My top 5 Switch games of 2017 H2x1_NSwitch_Arms

ARMS is one of the few fighting games that keeps me coming back with the only others bring Smash and the first Killer Instinct. So fair I have played 30 hours with me playing quite a bit during November and December for he party crashes and I like how this is one of the few fun 3D fighting games out there.

My top 5 Switch games of 2017 Splatoon-2-Main

All though Splatoon 2 its not all that different from the first game it's a game that keeps on giving. A new weapon every week we just got that new ranked mode, monthly new Splatfests for 2 years, a new Salmon run item monthly, new hair styles and will be 2 more stages before the end of the year. I also really enjoyed the story mode even if it was not all not long. While the game could use a local multiplayer mode so you have something to do on the go Splatoon 2 is a game that would make the payed online worth it for me.

My top 5 Switch games of 2017 XenobladeChronicles2_Thumb

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a huge game that is sure to take at least 90 hours. I have played 28 and a half hours and I have barely might a dent in chapter 4 thanks to the large number of side quests. The story is good, the drivers are good and I have even enjoyed the voice actors outside of Rex and the generic blades. Sadly I did have some small issues such as the quest arrow being replaced by a small square and the rare blades being a pain to get.

My top 5 Switch games of 2017 Super-mario-odyssey-10-30-17-1

While Super Mario Odyssey's main story can be beaten in about 10 to 12 hours the postgame is huge. I really enjoyed the different Kingdoms with my favorites being New Donk City, the  Snow Kingdom and the Lake Kingdom. Capturing enemies and objects with Cappy is also fun and it makes for a good stand in for the power-ups. Sadly though with there being so many moons some felt like filler and it just feels like a long checklist in the larger kingdoms.
