My top 5 3DS games of 2018

While 2018 was pretty much a quite year for the 3DS there was just enough games that I bought and played to make a top 5.

Kirby Battle Royale is pretty much the Kirby version of Mario Party with way less options. My favorite modes where Battle Arena, Apple Scramble and Robot Bankers. This game also had a story mode that got harder the further you got into it and a challenges much like the Smash Bros series does. Sadly the other playable character where King Dedede, Meta Knight and Bandana Dee. There where also only a few Kirby power-ups. I feel like a sequel with the dream friends of Star Allies and more modes on Switch for about $20 would make people give this spinoff series a shot.

Pokemon spinoffs have always been hit or miss. Detective Pikachu was one of the best spinoffs Pokemon games in a long time. I think the reason so many did not get the games is due to there not being much gameplay to it and the 3DS is not in it's prime anymore. I like how Pikachu was given a deep voice, the voice cast was pretty good and even the cases where pretty decent. It kind of sucks that people will only remember Detective Pikachu due to the  Hollywood movie that has different characters then the game.

Radiant Historia has a classic JRPG feel The story is very to the point, the characters feel very old school and there a ton of difficulty spikes. With that said this game having 3 different time periods makes it stand out, the party members are good and the boss fights always kept me thinking. I plan on coming back to this game and beating the new game plus boss someday.

I missed out on the original Luigi's Mansion so I'm glad they remake it for the 3DS. I liked the stroblight from Dark Moon and it's cool how multiplayer is an option now. I also enjoyed the one mansion layout and the boss ghosts are much more unique then the ones found in Dark Moon. I hope Luigi's Mansion 3 takes the best ideas from Luigi's Mansion and Dark and makes the best Luigi's Mansion game to date.

 I was never a big WarioWare fan until I played WarioWare Gold. There are 300 micrograms, a story mode and the characters are fully voiced for the first time in the series. The only thing I did not enjoy where the side mini-games outside of Ashley's Pumpkin Panic and the card mini-game. My favorite voice actors where Charles Martinet as Wario, Erica Lindbeck as Ashley and Christina Vee as 5 Volt. I would like to see a new WarioWare on Switch that cuts out some of the fat in 2020.
