    * MK8 development began just more than a year ago.
    * No others studio involved, 100% EAD Kyoto.
    * About the Gamepad use: ”Our priority is to provide the remote display on the GamePad only. We have other ideas, but that’s all we can tell you for now.”
    * Why no F-Zero instead ?: ”H. Konno: It has always been a Mario Kart per console, so we wanted to get a new one to have more people interested by our new system. But I also hope that there will be an F-Zero.
    * About tracks size: ”In Mario Kart 8 tracks have also been narrowed compared to Mario Kart Wii and reflects more the size of the road. “
    * About customization: ” Like Mario Kart 7 (but) with a little more choice”
    * No editor even if they talk about it.
    * About a Double Dash mode using the Gamepad: ”H. Konno: For Mario Kart Wii, 7 and 8, we decided not to use it. But this is a request that is often heard, so maybe we can meet this desire.

Double Dash mode sounds awesome, I hate how the tracks will be more narrow, but I suppose it does add a bit more challenge to the game which is certainly welcome.

This was not in Mario Circuit but, I saw it in a demo course of the Village course.

I also want to point out that more Shy Guy signs appear in the Village course.

Also the Village Course start line said Galaxy Air, so this likely means Rosalina is returning.

The Village Course also has Peach, Daisy and likely Rosalina names on a shop.
I seriously thought I put this *down* :/

Okay here's what I thought I had posted; obviously didn't :/ This sounds simular to Sonic Riders Zero Gravity. They're technically copying them because on SRZG whenever you saw a symbol (it was a picture of a rider on a board. The symbol pointed to the ride-able wall) you could hit the ramp and then land on the wall. A lot of the time, it was a lot faster.

My point is, this is sort of the same as SRZG; not exactly but still.

Now to answer the question. You see the blue strip they had on the road sometimes? Once you have crossed that your kart/bike will transform into the Z.G. thing. This is also the same for walls. So if you see a ramp and a wall next to it; almost definitely could you ride it Smile

      I hope that explained things.

And your ideas are great Gameguy Smile However maybe a course featuring the Toad's and Toad and Toadette would be possible, too! Smile

Mario Kart 8 - Page 5 Empty Re: Mario Kart 8

    Post by Gameguy1996 Wed Dec 11, 2013 1:08 am

We might get some news on this game in a few weeks.

I also want to update how likely other characters are now.

    All but, conformed
Mii- They talked about in a interview and it was in Mario Kart 7 and Wii so it will be back for 8.
    Rosalina-
Iwata asks wrote:Rosalina has a following among the Super Mario Galaxy fanbase, and she's appeared in Mario Kart recently, so I think she's well known.
Rosalina is also the only other character not shown yet to be playable in 8 yet that was playable in Mario Kart Wii and 7 minus the Mii. Also do to the lack of females and her being playable in 3D World I expect her to be back once again.

    Most likely
The console 7 this list includes Diddy Kong, Birdo, Bowser Jr, King Boo, Toadette, Baby Mario  and Baby Luigi.
I see all of them back. All though Baby Luigi might be cut if there's only 2 baby characters.

Honey Queen- Do to the low heavy weight females I could see her returning
Baby Peach- I would rather see Baby Luigi but, I think of there's only 2 baby's they will go with her over Baby Luigi.
Dry Bones- If Toadette is back why not Dry Bones?

    In danger of being removed
Metal Mario- He's might be a power-up for Mario this time.
Funky Kong- With him not being playable in DKTF I think he might be cut. However since he was used often online in Kart Wii he might be back or if he runs the shop in DKCTF.
Dry Bowser- Even though he was a boss in the recent Mario & Sonic games, 3D Land and MPIT and even playable in Mario Tennis Open he might be left out for other characters. He does have a sign in the E3 demo though so this could mean he's back.
Shy Guy- Sadly it seems like he's only in the handheld Mario Kart games. The sign in the E3 demo though could mean he playable.
Wiggler- He might not work on the bike.
Lakitu- It seemed like he was a one time character.
Baby Daisy- She's out if there only 2 baby characters.

    Newcomers
Hammer Bro- Since he was a beta character in Mario Kart Wii I could see them adding him.
Kamek- Why is this guy not playable yet? He should have been in since 64.
Dixie- She should be the third Donkey Kong character over Funky Kong this time.
Nabbit- Since he was playable in New Super Luigi U I think he will be added.
E-gadd- He should have been playable in Kart Wii and DS. Lets hope Nintendo adds him this time.
Sprixie Princess or Plussie- Since Mario Kart Wii had a Galaxy character I think 8 will have a 3D World character.
Cranky Kong- With him being playable in DKTF he might be playable here.
Big Bomb-Omb- He can be that  Shocked character.

I also made a Mario Kart 7 weight class roster.

    Mario Kart 8 - Page 5 13zx18j

I would have added a few more like Hammer Bro if I was going by the Mario Kart 'Wii weight class.

I do think there will be either a new trailer or gameplay footage in a January Nintendo Eirect (maybe even one this month?) but I don't think they'll reveal tons of characters, just general new info on some tracks, and a Double Dash mode.

But I think your character roster is really good Gameguy. I really don't care all that much about characters in any game other than fighters, though.

Oh boy, the Monster wheels return. If the Red Monster wheels return as well, I hope they get nerfed, they were broken in MK7.

I never actually got to play 7, so they'd be new to me. If they were that bad in 7, then it does suck that they're bringing them back.

The Ice Flower might be a new item in this game and what would everyone like to see added to the online system?

It sucks that Smash Bros for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS was the last game show and not this game. Wait Iwata tricked everyone and this was the last game shown in the Direct.

As you can see the following characters were shown.

    Rosalina
    Baby Mario
    Baby Luigi
    Baby Peach
    Baby Daisy

So the roster is now 17 characters
    Mario
    Luigi
    Peach
    Toad
    Bowser
    DK
    Rosalina
    Yoshi
    Daisy
    Koopa
    Wario
    Waluigi
    Toadette
    Baby Mario
    Baby Luigi
    Baby Peach
    Baby Daisy

4 Baby characters is over doing it but, it's nice to see Baby Luigi and Baby Daisy again and of course i'm happy that Rosalina and Baby Mario are back.

The tracks also look great. There's the Sunshine airport, A different cliff stage, A Ice Bowser course and I think the last one that Rosalina is racing on is a Galaxy stage.

I don't think it's a galaxy stage, I think it's an airship stage. Go look at the course again and you'll see. The storm bit in the stage looks incredible! I am also relived to see that Toadette is still in, even though she wasn't in the trailer. Whew, I was worried...

    @Yi
Nah, Gusty Garden Galaxy music is playing, so I'm thinking it's a stage based on that. But then again, Galaxy did have airships, so it could be a Galaxy airship.

And while I don't really care about characters as much as the tracks, why waste spots on babies, there's no reason to do so.

I never play as the babies; however, I do know of plenty of people that enjoy using the babies within these games, so seeing them in is nice I suppose.
