The Year of Luigi

Talk about Luigi's year here.

A Miiverse community is now open for the year of Luigi.

I don't see the point in a whole Miiverse community for it.

I wonder if anything else other than Luigi's Mansion and Super Luigi U will happen for this.

I think the year of Luigi will be green. jk

New Super Paper Luigi Galaxy Sunshine Bros 64 RPG, anyone?

But seriously though...I highly doubt that. In fact, I don't think there will even be another Luigi-related thing. It sounds more like they just decided that they already had two Luigi things releasing this year, so they might as well call it the Year of Luigi.

A place just to talk about Luigi, ha. I like it.

I'd love to draw lots of Luigis on it.

Paper...Luigi... Please, Nintendo? Been wanting that ever since the first Paper Mario was released. ;-;

^ That would be awesome. :3 But I highly doubt they would do that. I guess you never know though...perhaps they will. I think it would be more likely they would make a Paper Kirby or a Paper Metroid, something from another franchise than doing a Paper Luigi.

Mario & Luigi Dream Team: This game has a big focus on Luigi
Mario Golf World Tour: The trailer showed Luigi for the most part
New Super Luigi U
Mario Kart U
Super Mario Wii U: Luigi will likely be playable

Most likely
Mario & Sonic at the 2014 Sochi games: Luigi might have a role in the story mode
Mario Party 3DS/Mario Strikers U: One of the games will be shown at E3 or Nintendo Direct

^ Well...I really wouldn't count those games like Mario Kart and Mario Strikers, since he's already always playable in those. Perhaps there will be one more, but who really knows what it could be.

It should have been the year of the Mario bros.

In Toady's Nintendo Direct Mario and Lugi were standing by Iwata.

The only full game Luigi got was Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon.

New Luigi U- You need to buy New Super Mario Bros U if you want the DLC.

Mario & Luigi Dream Team-Luigi does play a big role.

Mario Golf World Tour- Sure you make a group were everyone can only use him. But the game is still Mario Golf.

Mario Party 3DS- There might be a story mode about Luigi. Still it's Mario Party at the end of the day.

Shigeru Miyamoto has said that the Year of Luigi has only just started. Could this mean more Luigi games or other things could be coming later this year?


I think there might be more Mario games with Luigi-related features in them, but I don't think there will be more Luigi games.

The only other games I could see this year are Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games for the 3DS and Wii U and a new Mario Strikers game for Wii U.

Sega and Nintendo always make a game a year before the Olympics start.

Next Level Games was likely going to make Mario Strikers a day 1 game for Wii U. However they were working on Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon at the time. Also the music from Mario Strikers plays in Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon.

The one game that could make this the year of Luigi is Paper Luigi. However I don't see Intelligent Systems making it.

I'm sure he'll be playable in all of those Mario spin-off games. But since he'd normally be playable in them, I wouldn't see it as something special for the year of Luigi.

Paper Luigi is highly unlikely, but I would really want it to be made. Perhaps it could be based off of Luigi's stories in TTYD.

Oh yea I would love to see the game Paper Luigi and the Waffle Kingdom game released to the Wii U; it would be SO AWESOME!

I also think we need other years of other Nintendo characters; such as the year of Samus, or even the year of Link, or the year of Peach. xp
