    Nintendo DS Empty Nintendo DS

This is the thread for the original DS, not 3DS.

Anyway, this was a really nice portable console, the touch screen was unique at the time, and the dual screens were pretty cool as well. Now I really find it difficult to see another game on a Nintendo handheld that wouldn't use dual screens (thinking as if there were another portable without the two screens)

Yeah, this ad some pretty good games on it, being quite a leap from the GBA to the DS was a bit of a different move than what was expected. I spent tons of hours on it with some games, it was a pretty decent handheld.

Did anyone have the original DS (like, not the DS Lite...)?

I still have one, but the top screen hinges are kinda broken. It still works though.

I also must say, the L and R buttons of every DS, DS Lite, and DSi are really...bad. (for lack of a better word Razz) Like, they break easily, I've only broken the L button on my DSi, but from what I've noticed, they never work too well. As well as the fact a lot of others had the same problem.

You must pound the buttons or something, all of my L and R buttons work just fine.

As I said before, it was just one of them on my DSi...but I really don't think I pounded the buttons. When I press L and R, I only slightly press it anyway. I also thought the mic wasn't used fully or properly, in the games it was used in, all you did was blow, which wasn't needed for anything. I don't see why else the mic would be used though...

My DS Lite is retired now.

I got it used at gamestop at few years ago. When I got it worked fine, however after playing it for a few weeks the L and R buttons felt like they were coming over and black marks got all over the top screen.

As for the mic I only used it for Mario Party DS, However I think you could have used for Pokemon.

I think there's a few other games like Bowser's Inside Story where you breifly use the mic. I guess it kinda works in MPDS, but overall it's just pointless to me.

Do you know how those black marks got on the top screen? I can't really think of a way there would be black marks on it unless you had mud or black paint on it or something...

I had the limited red edition that came with Mario Kart DS that I got back in 2005. Traded it in for a black DS Lite when they were new and said DS Lite broke after the top screen separated from the bottom. About a year later or something I got another DS. This time an original grey. Forgot what happened to it, though. Sold it, maybe?

Perhaps you did sell it. This is somewhat off-topic, but I've sold some of my things in the past, but now have no idea which things I've sold.

So...did anyone here ever use pictochat? I used it maybe twice, but I generally have no use for it.

I used pictochat a few times with cousins before. Just messin' around is all. Other than that...nope.
