1. This one is simple. Don't spam. Seriously, it's in the rules, and that's that. No maker of a roleplay likes their thread to be covered in a thick coating of spam.
2. No G-modding. To say what it means, logically it's not to make your character invincible. You can be hurt, you can even be injured severely. You're not going to be able to kill of an entire army with only a simple scratch. Sheesh, just try to use your brain a bit. Your characters are not like Superman.
3. Next, grammar. This seems to be the worst problem. There are three kinds of grammar to be used in roleplays.
First person grammar. It's like typing from your person's view. Like this
Pippyl: Well, I'm not sure. Let's keep looking *continues walking*
FPG as I call it is the worst grammar you can have. It doesn't tell what your surroundings are, gives little to no details, and it's only practical if you are a lazy typer. Seriously, put in some details.
First person story. This is the middle grammar. It's not liked, because it can become confusing. Allow me to give an example.
"Oh really?" Leon asked. Leon told Justin he would strike him down quickly if he spilled the secret.
The second part is what we call FPS. It's like saying without quotation marks, and can get hard to figure out when a character is speaking. It's very easy to skip over, and the other person not know what was going on.
Story script. Ah yes, the greatest kind of roleplaying there is. Story script gives the most details, and is the easiest to understand. Another example.
Andrew looked around, giving a sigh. He was completely alone. The water along the beach went up and down, giving a calming sound to his eardrums as every step he took to go forward caused a small bot of sand to get stuck between his toes. It didn't seem to be the most comfortable position. "Hello?" The boy asked, moving his head around to figure out what was going on.
Ok, I rambled a bit on that, but you get the point. Best to use choice number three, story script. Also, no text talk. No character is going to say lol, wtf, or any of that stuff.
4. Onto the topic creating your own RP. Every RP has two things that sparks it at the start. A base story, and a form. Rules too, but most of them are up here. the base story is what happened before the RP began. Such as if you are in the middle of a war, how did it begin? If you are in another world, how did you get there? The form is what you use to make a character. It's logically what you use to make a character with. All of them include the following information.
The RP character's name
The character's age
The gender
What they look like(or description)
Their personality
Background(Or bio. Logically, their past of how they ended up where they are)
Other(Anything else that's worth saying)
There are normally some others added on, like power, weapon, abilities etc., but that is depending on the RP.
5. The way of the warrior. This bases up the rules from before, while adding in a new one. Most RP's have fights, correct? Well, here's how we can do that. By example, of course!
1: Cloud quickly did a roll, rushing up towards Leon. With a quick slash, he cut Leon right on the arm.
First mistake. Controlling another character is NOT allowed unless given permission. Player one could have ruined one of player two's thoughts. This is a lighter one, and is normally given no thought. So normally this is allowed, but anything farther than above is not allowed.
2: Cloud ducked under the slice Leon swung, quickly jumping up and doing a slice towards Leon's head. Just in case, while in the air, he used his free hand to slice at Leon's stomach.
Mistake: Think about it. You're in the air, high above him and then you slice at his stomach. That's what we call "misplacement". It's what happens if you suddenly just teleport to another place, or appear from nowhere without warning. Logically, you can only be in one place, and these RP's are to be based on real. If you get hurt, it's going to take a bit to heal, unless someone uses a super hi-tech healing spell. Stay in one spot.
Third: Cloud quickly delivered a sharp punch to Leon, knocking him back into a building. Without warning, he rushed up, delivering many punches before striking an uppercut to knock him out.
Beep. This falls under g-modding. Cloud gave Leon no time to even retaliate nor block before he got in another move. Normally, this is fine since the other typer can say he blocked the first, then delivered a kick or something, but still be warned. Go too far, and g-modding will be your downfall.
Last, an FAQ. Anyone has questions, then I will add the question and answer here. While adding some other things on here.
Q: What is roleplaying?
A: It's a story that users put together. A game of sorts as each user plays a character and uses words to show what he or she is doing.
Q: How do you roleplay?
A: Post replies telling what your character is doing. Make sure to read other posts though to make sure that you're up to date.
Q: Why would you want to roleplay?
A: Because it is fun and addicting. It also allows you to know others better.
And tada! If you read all of this, give yourself a pat on the back, because now you have been dubbed that you can roleplay. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
