I'm expecting it either tomorrow or Friday, because tomorrow is when the eShop updates and Friday is the day of that live stream. I guess we'll have to wait and see though.

Sakurai wrote:Pic of the day. The hero from Pikmin 3, Alph joins the battle!! He has pretty much the same set skills as Olimar since he's basically just his variation. He can't use Rock Pikmin either. They are different characters, so they each get their own title treatment on the character-selection screen. See? It says Alph.
We all knew about this since the other day but, it's nice to see a clear picture of Alph and this is something that they did not need to do but, I'm glad that they did.

Well, we already knew about that. Still, nice to see official screenshots of Alph. I still wish they had all of the other Pikmin leaders, but oh well.
EDIT: The final roster has leaked...I'm honestly VERY shocked...

- Spoiler:
- The final roster is only just the characters shown from that first leak. So that's it. There are no others, those are every single character in the game, and that's it. :/ So yeah, no Ridley, Chorus Men, etc. Just those characters. That's a huge disappointment to me, because I thought, even if those terrible characters from the leak were in, there would be at least a few others that could be awesome additions. But apparently not...I have to say that's really disappointing...

^ Yeah what I just posted about, but I guess it's in text. It's honestly disappointing, I was really expecting a few more characters, but it's only the ones from the leak. :/ I was really hoping Ridley or the Chorus Men would be playable characters too...and of course Impa, Chibi-Robo, and Bayonetta, but I knew none of them would be playable anyway so it's not a big deal.

Could more characters be one the way after the Wii U version comes out? If you don't want to see some foul language don't click the tab.
- Spoiler:
Source
I really think this would be a cool idea since lots of people want to see those 4 as playable characters but, the way it was said makes me think he was making up the story about his source sadly.

Chibi-Robo, Takamaru, Ridley, Bayonetta, Mewtwo could have been the best.
Instead stupid Jigglypuff returns, R.O.B. is back and Wii Fit Trainer...

^ Don't forget Dr. Mario and Dark Pit, seriously, why are they even in this game? Sakurai said quite some time ago they would be getting rid of clones, but instead they brought back one from Melee and added multiple other clones. >_> I know they're probably not taking the spot from anyone else, but I still think the roster would seem better if they were just alts instead of having their own separate spots on the roster. I mean, Alph is an alt for Olimar, why can't the other clones just be alts as well? I like the obscure character choices, but that's all there is, there's a TON of characters people have been wanting forever, and yet they're still not here...
Also, I still plan on getting this and playing it a bunch, still looks fantastic, I just hate that roster.

I think Dr. Mario is back since he has Mario's old moves and Dark Pit plays like Brawl Pit. Also they where likely added last minute like Lucina so there would be 3 less characters without the clones since they don't take much time to make unlike the other newcomers.
I don't really care for the Global Smash Power but, it's nice to know that patches are a think now and it seems like Sakurai might be hinting at more things being added to the game at a later date.
Sakurai wrote:Pic of the day. This is the World Status you can see in Spectator mode. The game isn't released yet so the map looks pretty plain now, but I wonder what it'll look like once it's out? Also, this is where you can see all sorts of stats being tallied up. In Group play and Spectator mode, you can see characters you haven't unlocked yet, so watch out if you don't want to be spoiled. Even if you don't want to be spoiled, it might be wise to select the Online option at least once before you start the game. Your Global Smash Power won't appear until the first time you connect to the internet. Not only that, but there could potentially be a patch available that can resolve potential issues, like the one being released now for the Japanese version of the game. For the package version, updates can be pre-downloaded to your system even before you purchase the game, so make sure you look out for them.

The 3DS demo is coming next Friday and some might be able to get the demo early.
I guess that's cool that select Club Nintendo members can get the demo early and I think the select stores will have all of the starting characters in there demo.
PR email wrote:To make the wait for the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS on Oct. 3 easier, Nintendo is giving fans four different ways to experience a demo version of the game.
Today, Club Nintendo members who have achieved Platinum status between July 1, 2013, and June 30, 2014, have registered Nintendo 3DS hardware or software, and have opted in to receive emails from Club Nintendo will receive an email containing four download codes for the demo.
Nintendo encourages recipients of the Club Nintendo demo to share the three extra codes with friends who also own Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 2DS systems. Together they can play along through local wireless multiplayer, even if those three friends aren’t Club Nintendo members. The Club Nintendo demo of the game features an unlimited play count, five playable characters (Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager and Mega Man), one stage (Battlefield) and the ability to compete in local multiplayer matches with fellow Nintendo 3DS owners who have downloaded the demo to their systems. The Club Nintendo demo codes must be redeemed before Sept. 19.
All Nintendo 3DS owners can download a free demo for the all-star fighting game from the Nintendo eShop starting on Sept. 19. This demo includes the same content and features as the Club Nintendo demo that select members will receive one week earlier, and can be opened from the Nintendo 3DS Home Menu a maximum of 30 times. A Nintendo Network ID is required to download either the Club Nintendo or Nintendo eShop demo.
Starting on Sept. 18, select retail locations will feature in-store kiosks with the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS demo for everyone to enjoy.

I got the codes for the Smash Bros demo. I redeemed one from the e-shop but I haven't got the chance to play it yet. I'm looking forward to it as this is my first time playing this game.

^ Same here, although I have played it. Something I wasn't really expecting is how great it looks. I guess in screenshots and trailers, it just doesn't look quite as pretty, but on the 3DS itself (especially in 3D) it actually looks amazing. So I'm pleasantly surprised. As for the game itself, it feels slightly closer to Melee on how it plays, and that's a plus for me. I wasn't a fan of how Brawl felt, although I did like that game, I preferred Melee because of it. But from what I could tell this tops both. (of course assuming that the rest of the game is good too ) But just from how it feels playing, I love it.
Also, Nintendo just confirmed you can use your Nintendo 3DS as a CONTROLLER on the Wii U version of Smash Bros! Awesome! I mean, I'm sure I'll just use Pro Controller or GameCube Controller if I get the Wii U version, but I'll definitely want to try it out, that seems really cool.

Ouch, the deconfirmation stick certainly has whipped quite a lot of fan favourites out of Smash this time around. I feel for the Wolf fans, being demoted to a mere trophy in the lottery seems harsh... So indeed, seems like the leaked roster was in fact our final roster.
It is a bit underwhelming to see the roster end up like this, but there's still plenty of interesting newcomers. The gameplay seems amazing so far from what I've seen as well, so I must say that I'm pumped!
Of course, there's DLC as well, so I wouldn't rule the roster to being completely final at this point. Sakurai has been known for being extremely unexpected.
