    Are you sure about that? I thought they removed the feature to switch countries on the eShop or something like that. Maybe I'm wrong though.

    Yeah, lol. Although, who really wants to have to read Japanese in order to use it and play the games anyway? I'd personally rather wait for a western release to get the game in my own language, so it's much easier to figure out what to do. (or in the case of RPGs, so it's not absolutely impossible to play Razz)

    Depends on the game really. Like you say a big epic text heavy RPG will almost impenetrable, but games like Monster Hunter where there's very little text and follow a specific pattern are really easy to get through even if you don't understand a lick of Japanese. I've beaten Portable 3rd on the PSP and TriG in Japanese and it was perfectly fine.

    For some reason say there was a big delay on the new Mario platformer coming west, and given Playasia always have very reasonable import prices (depends on your state/country's import tax rate of course but most western countries are okay apart from Italy) wouldn't you be tempted to just get it? What would you really be missing out on? Some stuff doesn't make its way over here anyway, I've been dying to get my mitts on four Dragon Quest games that have come out on 3DS but none of them have made their way over here. Thanks Square, but if Nintendo didn't have region locking I could get my hands on them. The only justifiable reason for region locking is sheer greed.

    Yes, I completely agree. I don't think Nintendo, or any game company for that matter, should prevent you from being able to play a game just because the company who developed it decided it wouldn't be released in the west. I just feel that if a game is already coming to the west, even if it is a bit later than Japan, what reason would there be for importing a Japanese version? I wouldn't mind region-locking AT ALL if all Japanese (or other region-exclusive) games were released outside of Japan. But that isn't the case. I don't see why Nintendo would do this when they know that there are still plenty of games not releasing outside of Japan or anything. Perhaps they're trying to get more developers to release their games outside of their country?

    Oh, and I wasn't trying to say it was a good thing in my other post. I just don't see why you should have to import a Japanese copy of a game rather than waiting for a western release. (even if the console were region-free)

    Lol, you know, he actually has the angry eyes in the Japanese boxart for Kirby: Triple Deluxe. I wonder why they decided to do that.

    A random Nintendo Direct aired in Australia today, with the announcement that the New Nintendo 3DS will be releasing in Australia on November 21st of THIS YEAR.

    Yes, that's right, Australia is getting the New 3DS BEFORE North America and Europe. (and pretty much every region other than Japan) This has pretty much never happened before...I guess Australia deserves it, as they generally have to wait longer and pay more for games/consoles. Although I still can't believe they get it this year, and we still have to wait until next year for it to release in NA...

    Oh, I'm sure that NA will get an announcement of the new 3DS releasing sometime in December would be my guess since Nintendo wants that Christmas money. ;3

    ^ Well perhaps they'll change their stance randomly. But both NoA and NoE stated that the New 3DS would be releasing in 2015 in both regions, I believe.

    I think the New Nintendo 3DS is not coming this year since NOA plan is to move more Wii U's since the system is doing the best here. I'm not sure about Europe though.

    Idk about that. Nintendo at one time said they had no plans for a newer DS & a few month's later the 3DS was announced. So let's just say that I don't believe them; shall we say. ^^;

    ^ While that is true, they've already announced the New 3DS. If it were releasing this year, they would've said so I'm sure. Even in the Australian Direct, they said it's releasing in Australia even before NA and Europe. I can't imagine them releasing it in December if it releases this year, that would make no sense.

    I think it would make perfect sense since Nintendo would want to make more money by releasing it to the NA area's.

    ^ I know that it makes sense, but they've confirmed multiple times now it's releasing in 2015, so I really wouldn't expect it. I guess it's still possible, but I just don't think it'll happen.

    It's cool that Nintendo is going all out with this and I kind of want those characters to have those outfits in there games now.
