True, but for a fighting game, you'd think the areas you'd fight on were made for you to fight on, that'd be like if a platformer was a small arena and they wanted you to kill everything to proceed, which happens, and it's a pace breaker that should've been dealt with differently...maybe my opinion is just in it too heavily.

Here's the pic of the day.

Sakurai wrote:Pic of the day. Fallen Rosalina. Strange how calm and nonchalant she looks even when she takes damage. Is it because she's from outer space?

It looks like she's taking a nap on the Animal Crossing stage. Also Wario might be shown tomorrow since it's the Japanese release date, for Mario Party Island Tour, Jigglypuff or Red might be shown for the North America release date of Pokemon Battle Trozei. Though I hope there's info about a Nintendo Direct. If a Nintendo Direct happens on Thursday I can see Yoshi, Snake or a newcomer being shown.

I do wonder why Yoshi wasn't revealed on YNI release day...

I'm also a bit surprised he still hasn't been shown.

I have no doubt he's coming back but why wait this long for...Yoshi...?

    --

May I ask exactly why you can see Snake being revealed?

^ Probably due to the release of the new Metal Gear Solid game. (the one that can be finished in 5 minutes Razz) And yeah it is strange Yoshi hasn't been shown yet, but even if he was part of the original 12, there's no telling if he will return or not, especially when it's been this long.

Anyway, pic of the day is kinda boring today, but I didn't expect him to post something interesting when he just showed off an entire traveling stage yesterday.

Had no idea a new MGS game was even announced or released.

We'll just have to wait and see... It would just be dumb if for some reason Yoshi were cut... Nintendo could expect tons of backlash and possibly a petition being made.

Well yeah, it was announced a couple weeks ago or longer. So it would make sense for him to be shown then if he's in the game at all. But Kojima said he'd want Snake in the game a few days ago...so maybe he was hinting at him being revealed this week...

Also yeah Yoshi shouldn't be randomly cut after being in all the first 3 games, it'd be bad for fans of him in Smash Bros. But I wouldn't care as it seems a lot of my most wanted characters are in the game already. (Mega Man, Rosalina, Little Mac...)

I really don't want Snake back but, if he was coming back he would likely be shown this month and I'm sure Yoshi will be shown on the Japanese release date of Yoshi New Island since those are the release dates Sakurai likes using minus Diddy since the last Nintendo Direct happened on the Japanese release date of DKCTF.

Here's the pic of the day.

Sakurai wrote:Pic of the day. The Peanut Popgun now deals a powerful attack when it explodes. It'll be difficult to hit your target, but when you succeed, the explosion will really blow your enemies away. Give it a shot when you break someone's shield.

It nice to know that the Peanut Popgun has some power now since it hardly did anything in Brawl. Also if we don't get a character to end the week a Nintendo Direct is likely around the corner.

I wish there was a Nintendo Direct tomorrow... (I'm guessing there isn't or Gameguy would've posted about it Razz)

The Peanut Popgun really needed a power boost so that's good. I guess they're explosive peanuts now, then. (or at least it appears to be the case)

It's interesting to see how they're throwing in an attempt to balance the characters, and I guess it's nice to see that the peanut gun does a bit of damage, that at least makes it seem somewhat useful.

^ Yeah, Sakurai even mentioned specifically he was trying to balance it out a bit more for the game, so it makes sense that some of the moves/mechanics are changing as compared to previous Smash Bros. games. (Well, mostly Brawl)

Although outside of balancing there doesn't seem to be any new mechanics in the game. Like how Brawl had the Smash Ball, there doesn't seem to be anything big like that, unless Sakurai just wants to keep it secret for now.

balancing characters is the best thing since some characters need it like Meta Knight and the new mechanics will likely be small things.

Here the pic of the day.

Miiverse has not updated yet so I don't not what Sakurai said about Phosphora. I'm thinking that she's a trophy though.

    Definitely trophy.

BTW. Who actually felt the whole Meta Knight banning thing was...silly?

^ I thought it was just because I felt it was fair. They would've patched the game and made Meta Knight less powerful if they felt it was really that unfair. But still he was quite overpowered.

And Phospora looks like a trophy due to her not being anywhere in battle. And there hasn't been a character reveal in over 4 weeks! Strange. There's probably going to be a Nintendo Direct soon though, so they could reveal a brand new character then. (Palutena, especially if the Direct is Monday since it's close to the anniversary of KIU)

    Here's the quote.

Sakurai wrote:Pic of the day. The most powerful commander of the Forces of Nature, Lightning Flash Phosphora!! …is a Trophy. The detail in her scarf is amazing.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - Page 35 ZlCfzRp9yR4PMOWxQl

It seems like we were right about Phosphora being a trophy. It also seems that we just got Phosphora for the Kid Icarus Uprising Anniversary. I think Sakurai is keeping something hidden about the Kid Icarus Wii U stage though since we have not seen it since January. Maybe the statue of Palutena will change into the Goddess of Nature or the whole stage will change into the underworld when Palutena is shown to be playable in a Nintendo Direct.
