It's investigation report from the squid Institute. The octopus corps, as well as squid, seems there are things that can be transformed into a form of human. But, not only female individual is confirmed Strangely. I wonder only female octopus has a makeover ability? Or simply ...... wonder that someone hobby?





I guess there saying that only the female octopus leader can turn into a human. Also I don't think NOA has been posting on the page they opened.

Come on NOA, you opened the tumblr page for a reason. :/ Oh well. I guess most of that translation makes sense. I'm going to make a guess and say she is an octobot that can transform into human form and is the main villain of the game.

It's showing that the Inklings actually do have 10 legs just like the squids! Strange. I never noticed that before. I really do like the design of the Inklings though, they're great.

Heh, I do imagine that must've been a bit hard to write 2015 with the ink. That's a great first Splatoon screen of the year!

I guess that's a nice pic to start 2015 and I also think the team spend some time working on the 2015.

At first glance, this looks like a typical back alley, but word on the street is that it’s a favorite battleground for these crazy squids. Apparently it’s a popular place to hone one’s skills in one-on-one duels. If fact, it looks familiar for some reason…

Interesting, but I want to know what the "familiar" part is supposed to mean. Is it a stage based off of another Nintendo game or something? It really doesn't look like it...could just be because it was in another trailer for Splatoon, so we already have seen it.

Guess you can't go into water. I kind of thought you'd be able to, considering you can transform into squids. Maybe you can swim as a squid or something?

I think you can't go into the water as a human since there has to be drawbacks when your in that form.

A few details on the developers/composers:

- Toru Minegishi is the game's composer
- Minegishi has composed for Nintendo for more than 15 years
- he has worked on several Zelda titles, Animal Crossing, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D World and more
- Splatoon would be the first game where Minegishi is the sole composer
- Monolith Soft Kyoto might be assisting on Splatoon
- Monolith Soft Kyoto's founder, Yasuyuki Honne, is a follower of the official Splatoon dev twitter

So the 3D World composer is making the music for this game? Awesome, I loved the music in that game, should be good. I know the music was already great for the first two trailers, makes sense. Monolith Soft helped with Animal Crossing: New Leaf, so I think it makes sense they'd help with this considering most of the devs are the same.

Here's a new trailer and the game also comes out this May.



I like how the weapons and clothes can change your stats. I also feel like the game will be out later in May.

That May release is amazing, I was expecting it to release a bit later, so I'm happy with that. The hub seems really cool, and the weapon sets are definitely interesting. I'll likely switch mine up quite a bit.

Also loving the atmosphere of the game.

I really like it, although I honestly wish they had gone with a few other colors as well. Still, it looks pretty nice. Wii U boxarts tend to be that way in general, so it's nice to see the trend continue. I guess the female orange Inkling with t-shirt, shorts, and headphones is the main Inkling then? Or kind of the default one?

The box art looks nice and we know that the Orange one was the main one for a while since that's the one seen in the artwork and gameplay the most.
