    ^ You're definitely right, it does look like a squished 3DS. But to be honest I really love it and I don't know why. XD I think the design is great and I love the color scheme, although I do think there needs to be an all black system or all white as well, I tend to prefer solids for my handhelds.

    Agreed, I think we'll see all of those that you mentioned in addition to the new Kirby game. I don't really think there's gonna be much else for this year but you really never know. There's still a lot of Japan-only titles that need to be brought over to the west so I'm sure we'll see a few of those as well. I'm really hoping The Great Ace Attorney makes it over here but it seems unlikely.

    I actually thought the N2DSXL design was pretty sweet though like Queen said the colour palette could have been better

    Software wise there's not a lot to keep me attracted at this stage, Miitopia doesn't interest me, idk what the unknown Kirby title is, and FEW I'm gonna gun for the Switch version, but let's see what surprises other than M+L1DX pop up

    ^ I would like to get that version in NA, it seems as though it's releasing along with the black and blue version in most other regions.

    I'm with you, but there are a few games here and there that seem interesting, Ever Oasis looks particularly good, and there's at least some indie games coming to the eShop as well. And as for me I'm still catching up on a few 3DS titles I've missed, there's still a few games I'd like to play.

    Nintendo says they plan to support Nintendo 3DS in 2018 and beyond.

    The way we continue to make Nintendo 3DS vibrant as a platform is first we continue to innovate from form factor standpoint. So the New 2DS XL is just the latest for us in having form factor innovation. We know colors are a key differentiator, consumers love the variety of different colors. And also the larger screen and the different form factor in the 2DS family, we think is a going to drive and continue to drive the 3DS platform. We’re going to continue to bring new content, and that’s what’s going to keep this device vibrant and keep it going well into 2018 and beyond.

    We say that Switch is a home console that you take with you and play with anyone, anywhere, anytime. It really is meant to deliver that great home console performance, you just happen to be able to undock it and take it with you, which is a key innovation, but look, in the end, what we want is we want the consumer to call it their device, right? Their preferred gaming device that they can play fantastic Zelda, Mario, third-party content, all of their favorite franchises brought to life on the platform. That’s what we want. And we’re greedy and we want Nintendo 3DS right alongside it.

    I mean I'm still fully expecting support to die off sometime during 2018. I think it could last for a little while longer but by the end of 2018 the 3DS software releases will probably be pretty much done. I'm actually surprised it's still around but I'm very glad because I LOVE the 3DS and still would consider it my favorite game platform. I'm gonna continue to support 3DS titles as long as the 3DS is still supported.

    While all of the upcoming 3DS games are from 2nd and 3rd party studios. With that said I can see some third party studios still releasing games on the 3DS until the end of 2019 and I can see Nintendo having there 2nd party studios make a few more remakes.

    A Metroid themed New Nintendo 3DS XL will be released on the same day as Samus Returns for $200.



    I hope all the Metroid fans who want this are able to beat the scalpers to this limited 3DS and Nintendo is really showing a ton of love to Metroid.

    I'd get it if I liked the color scheme. But orange & gold isn't my thing. I'd probably have gotten it if it was more gold. I get that the color scheme is Samus' helmet & then her outfit but.. Meh. Besides I'd rather the Metroid edition been announced as a new 2DS xl version then I would have considered it. Razz

    It is kind of a weird color combination, I agree with Queen. It's awesome to see a Metroid 3DS design but I feel like it could've been better. It doesn't look bad though, like I would still totally use it if I had one.

    A bunch of years without any Metroid, and all of a sudden 2 announced games, collector's editions, amiibos, and now themed systems. Nintendo finally learned that they could make money by giving the fans what they want and more. About the design, I'd say the having the top of the outside be red-orange and the bottom be gold is kinda bleh. I also agree with Queen that it should've been a New 2DS model instead.

    A new SNES styled New 3DS XL will be released in Europe on October 13th.



    Cash in on the SNES Classic hype and it seems like other item for hardcore fans with it not being a 2DS.

    I feel like it's weird to see all these New 3DS XL models releasing after we just go the New 2DS XL. You'd think they'd want to release more models for that one instead to cash in on it. Although I do love that design, I'd totally buy it.

    The white and Orange New 2DS XL will finally be released on October 6th in the US. A poke ball New 2DS XL will also be released on November 3rd.





    The white and Orange 2DS should have been released worldwide the same day and the Poke Ball one looks nice.

    Tbh, I'd love to get the Pokeball one. The orange-sycle one isn't really a color scheme I personally care for. But hey if some one out there loves orange/white scheme then it's just one less person out there who won't buy it so that person can get it. Too bad the Pokeball one will most likely sell out quicker due to how many pokemon fans that will want it though. D:
