Peach...playable...in a main Mario game? Color me surprised. Nintendo FINALLY listened to what their fans have wanted. I know I did for years. Too bad I'm never buying a Wii U to get to play as her.

Still Blue Toad though, I know it's just a different colour but I find it odd.
If Peach is in, Toad should too...

Re: Super Mario 3D World
Well if I'm not mistaken, Blue Toad was the Toad playable in SMB2, and the characters are based off of that game. So Blue Toad makes perfect sense.

That was so odd.
Nintendo never said anything though.
Apparently it was Toad wearing Blue Toad's clothing...

Re: Super Mario 3D World
I have to double-post again...
There will be no online multiplayer in this.
Here:
The Wii U console’s first 3D Mario game and the first four-player 3D Mario game, Super Mario 3D World, will exclude online multiplayer. In an interview with Time, the game’s director, Koichi Hayashida, and producer Yoshiaki Koizumi have confirmed that Super Mario 3D World will only support local multiplayer. So, if you don’t have three other people in your household that are willing to play with you, you’re out of luck.

Time: Why the choice not to support online multiplayer in Super Mario 3D World?
Hayashida: I think that we’ve always wanted to focus on being able to see the other players around you. I always thought that was fun.
Koizumi: The first Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System had two controllers, so you could play multiplayer with someone right next to you. I think that we wanted to accomplish the same kind of feeling in a 3D Mario game for the first time.
Hayashida: I’ve always really enjoyed playing games with my children. In Super Mario Galaxy, we had the “assist play mode” that was available, but this is the first time that we’ve implemented a real multiplayer where the second player is moving a character around on screen in a 3D Mario game. And so I’m really happily looking forward to the experience of playing that with my kids.
Koizumi: And now that Peach has been included, I’m also hoping that people will be able to play the game with their girlfriends. Perhaps some of their girlfriends will find Peach as a more appealing character to play – or your wife, of course.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
I didn't expect online multiplayer anyway, not a big deal for me as I didn't think I would play it in multiplayer that much anyway, and I do have other people who can play it with me if I want to do that.
But NSMBU didn't have it, neither did NSMBW.

Yeah.
I really don't see why people would want online multiplayer either.
Unless you're at the same "skill level" and really know each other.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
I don't understand why everyone is mad about the no online multiplayer because, we don't really need it in any game. I just wish some of the younger gamers were around in the SNES or Nintendo 64 days when it was about playing with you friends and family. Now a days most people say no online no buy.
It's nice that games like Smash Bros and Mario Kart have online player but, even if they never had online I would still buy the games.
Here is what I played at Best Buy.

- Spoiler:
- Before I started playing I asked the three other guys who they wanted to play as. One guy said Luigi, the next guy said he would play as Peach because he said no one likes playing as Peach, I got no answer from the last guy so he was left with Toad. The level the Luigi player selected was 1-1. The level started off with lots of coins and a block that had four cat suits, everyone got one. I almost got the first green star but, the guy using Luigi was moving extra fast. The level then had an underground section were the level had an up route and a down route. Peach and Toad took the up route and Luigi and I took the down route were the I got the second green star. The last green star was in a pipe were you had to step on all of the spaces. After that was a pipe that took everyone to the end of the level. Sadly I only played this level. However this is a game you must play to understand how good it is.

^Fixed the spoiler for you there.
That sounds cool though.
I wonder if that level will be an actual track in the future...

Re: Super Mario 3D World
Likely will be, just an edited version of it. Did you ever play the 3D Land demo before it released? I did, the "world 1-1" was fun and stuff, but anyway, after buying the game, the first level is still very similar with just a few changes to it. So I'd assume that's what happens to this as well, when they say world 1-1, they literally mean it's going to be that level in the game.
@Gameguy
I agree with you, although I don't even have many online games. Nobody's really mad about this though.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
"Shacknews is reporting that the charming Super Mario 3D World will be coming to Wii U on December 13th. The publication published the information shortly after E3. It isn’t clear if this is the release date for Japan, or for the United States and Europe. Nintendo of America and Nintendo Europe have both previously penciled Super Mario 3D World in with a vague December 2013 release date."
I was hoping a week or so earlier.
At least this date is before Christmas though.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
That doesn't sound right, I think it'll likely be December 8th, there are a fairly large amount of games that release on Sundays. Plus, you mentioned you'd rather have it earlier, it probably will be earlier.
I'll probably wind up getting it as a Christmas gift then. :3

Re: Super Mario 3D World
I'm sure it's the Toad from Super Mario Bros 2, Because Yellow Toad would have been playable over Peach if it was the one for New Super Mario Bros. I still don't think the Toad that is playable is the Toad since it was said that the Toad was the Toad Brigade captain.
Also here's some ideas for more characters if they make more games at some point or add DLC.
Wario- Is stronger then others but can't jump as high and is slow.
Toadette- Same as Toad but harder to stop.
Yoshi- Same as he plays in Super Mario 64 DS.
Daisy- Harder to stop and does not float as long as Peach.
Rosalina- Can use magic and float but is really slow.
Young Master Luma- Can use the Star Spin and is only playable if a player 5 wants to join in.
Also I hope you don't have to hint the top of every flag pole with Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad because it would be boring playing the same level four times.

Re: Super Mario 3D World
The Luma would be pointless since you can already join in as a fifth player using the Wii U gamepad to find the hidden objects. But I honestly doubt they would add more characters in DLC for this, or any Mario platformer for that matter.
But I totally agree with the bottom portion of your post, I really hope you don't have to.
