And yes, I am a fan of RoahmMythril. I just had to use one of his quotes here.
Let's start.
Our crew wake up at the Castle. Alfonzo is wounded, but Link is safe. Zelda is nowhere, though.
This guy is called Teacher. Yes, that's his name. Simple, right?
I decided to joke around with Teacher and chose the first option.
Even Teacher talks like real-life teachers!
But let's do this properly, we have to rescue Princess Zelda since this is a Zelda game.
Thankfully, Zelda still exists as a spirit. The bad news is that nobody can see her, since she is now a spirit.
Thankfully, Link can still see her.
That's okay Miss Zelda, it's not your fault.
Yeah. I can't believe that Chancellor Cole completely disabled the use of one of the best vehicles of the world.
Uh-oh, Zelda's going up high..
And so, Link and Zelda's journey starts. They would face a lot of amazing moments on their adventures, just like every other Zelda game. (Excluding the CDi ones)
Before that, though, Zelda gives Link the Spirit Flute! It's the instrument of this game, like the Ocarina of Time from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.
This one is also unique that you actually need to blow in the mic to use it.
Great! I can't wait to bomb some Dodongos! As always, though, we get halted by the Castle Guard.
It's dangerous to go alone! (Well, that Castle Guard can not see Zelda, so that fits.)And so, we get the sword from this swordsman guy.
Since this is a touch-screen Zelda game, we have face a sword tutorial before getting to go, though. But since it's just basic sword training, I didn't capture those screenshots.
We also buy a shield at Hyrule Castle Town's markets! Now, we're ready to go.
And so, we take that passage and enter this cave.
Mini-Dungeon: Tunnel to the TowerFirst, we have to move this block to the switch and get the key. And due to bad screenshot timing, I'm about to get struck by that Keese. Isn't that just wonderful?
Anyways, we got the key! Now let's move on to the second floor.
Players of Phantom Hourglass will recognize this part very well. It's the switch pressing part! Every touch-screen Zelda game should have a puzzle like this in an intro area.
Some players tend to memorize the order of this, while some others take notes of this stuff. But since I didn't want to back-track in case I get the order wrong, we do the better note-taking method. Memoes for the win!
Anyways, the order is Right Top Bottom Left.
I just wrote 'Ness and Lucas' there for just fun, lol. Onto the third floor.
Zelda gets the mouse problem! I hate mice in Zelda too, because I found that mouse chasing section in Phantom Hourglass pretty notorious, until I found out where to hide and when to strike the mouse. And I did that thanks to the internet.
Phantom Hourglass (Footage from Zeldadungeon) wrote:That stupid runaway key mouse..
My pleasure, Miss Zelda. You shouldn't be scared of mice when you are a spirit, though. They can't see you, right?
Anyways, we enter the Tower of Spirits!
Very Long Cutscene AlertThis person is called Anjean, and she is the sage protecting the Tower of Spirits. That's the reason why she can see Zelda. I actually like her old-woman stylish personality a lot.
That old woman from the original Zelda who always says "Boy you are rich" can be destroyed thoughNow, the crew and Zelda discuss a more serious matter. About Zelda's body.
Yes, that's the Demon King that Niko said on his story time. And this is that tower where he was locked in. Don't you love it when the intro and the gameplay perfectly matches?
Oh, so his name is Malladus. Not a bad name, I guess.
No way! I really don't want Zelda's body to be affected, like the Shadow Queen from Paper Mario TTYD. (Oh, the Shadow Queen case is worse after thinking. While Zelda's spirit will be still here, Peach's spirit doesn't even exist when the Shadow Queen takes over her. Well, that's what I think..)
Uh-oh, Zelda is mad again. Don't you love Zelda in this game?
- Spoilers for Wind Waker:
No wonder that she is the descentdant from Tetra in the previous games. I loved Tetra in that game. She was a bit dumb in The Phantom Hourglass, though.
That's how high Zelda is up there!
Spirit Zelda needs to get fat..I like how Anjean tries to explain how Zelda can get her body back, but Zelda's face just says "My body and the Demon King? No way, this can't be happening, send Link, oh my."
And will Zelda do it for herself? Nope.
I found this scene to be very humorous. Zelda is bascially rapping at this moment, the dialouge goes on automatically. Also, I love how Zelda thinks that making Link do the whole work is 'a family tradition'. Peach should have a scene like this..
Thankfully, Anjean solves the problem.
Or not. Zelda tries to make someone else help Link, because she has to face 'a family tradition'.
Actually Alfonzo could do a good job at this- he could throw, shake, and drop Link to solve all the puzzles of this tower. lol.
But he's wounded. Who else?
Thankfully, Anjean solves the problem again.
Look at Link's face. He looks so happy that the world's most beautiful princess is going to go on a journey to him.
Yes. Chancellor Cole is a bad Chancellor, so you need to save Hyrule, Miss Zelda.
Zelda now accepts the fact that he has to go with Link, and so, Zelda and Link will be going on an adventure together for the rest of the game! I love this game already.
Master Dungeon: Tower of the Spirits Act 1... or not.
These terrifying creatures are known as Phantoms. They used to scare me a lot while I was a kid playing Phantom Hourglass. And Zelda's reaction there reminds me of my childhood reaction to Phantoms.
Well, that's nice Anjean. Next time, tell us essential stuff first.
Master Dungeon: Tower of the Spirits Act 1 (The Real Deal)So we need to collect these Tear of Lights here. For the people who never played this or Phantom Hourglass, I'll explain more about the Phantoms.
Phantoms just walk around for the most of the time, but when it detects you, it will chase after you. Even a real scary music plays on the background while he's chasing you. If it catches you, you have to do the floor over again. Thankfully, you can get on safe zones (the area where Link is standing now) where you are safe from the Phantoms.
The third of Tear of Light is a bit harder to get, though. You need to press the switch..
To make a bridge and get it. Now we can defeat the Phantoms!
Time for revenge what they caused to my childhood while playing Phantom Hourglass! REVENGE!!!As we slash the Phantom..
Wait, we slashed it. Why would it attack us? Nooooo!
REVENGE FAILURE!!!Go, Zelda! You need to protect Link!
And so... Zelda now possesses the Phantom. Finally we can control those beasts who caused me a lot of trouble back then!
REVENGE!!!This game is already amazing.
Let's go, Zelda! We need to get your body back and defeat Cole! And Malladus.
Back to dungeon tracking. Let's go to the second floor.
These are spikes, which can be nightmares in the Megaman series. However, since this game is Zelda: Spirit Tracks, now we can let Zelda Phantom walk through it.
REVENGE!!!Then hit the switch as Zelda, so we could remove the spikes and let Link go in.
This one requires you and Zelda to stand on both of these switches. Easy, right?
And we can now trick Phantoms! Those things may be aggresive, but they can be dumb sometimes. Not to mention that you can trap them by trapdoors on Phantom Hourglass.
Then don't guard it.Anyways, while letting Zelda talk to that Phantom, we sneak up as Link and go to the third floor!
Anyways, we get a new railmap! We can use the train again!
Back to cutscene time.
Yes, we need to go to temples to restore more of the Tower of Spirits. And gain more railmaps.
And though it's missing from the screenshots, Anjean and Zelda's ancestors used to know each other. So Anjean gave the flute to Zelda's ancestor. Then it was passed downed to current Zelda.
So, our first target is Lokomo Gage! Let's go!
What's even better, is that there's a new train. Remember? The train from the last episode is now broken, due to Cole.
Thank you Spirits, I really appreciate your help.
And so, we got the first railmap. In the next episode, we will go find Gage, and explore the first dungeon to the halfway point. See you then. Goodbye.
