It looks AMAZING! I'll end up playing the game twice to play through both sides, but I'm not sure which one to go for first. I guess there's a lot of time considering it doesn't release until 2016...

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I wonder how customizable your character is, I do like how these ones look and all, but I also liked being able to in Awakening, it makes it a little more personal which for If seems to be a big thing.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Could the 2 different versions mean that each one has one side of the story?

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I think they're still fully fleshed out storylines, but the main one is the simple and accessible storyline. The DLC one (which I assume will be free?...I mean it sounded that way in the Direct) will be the complex one for RPG fans.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Most of what was said in the trailer had already been predicted, but I'm glad to see it confirmed. It looks amazing, I'm too excited for this game. The Nohr path easily looks most interesting to me, but it looks like the kind of game that has a lot of replay value, so I'll play the Hoshido path too. I think it has potential to be the best FE game released this decade.
I get a Fire Emblem: Gaiden vibe from it. Wonder if it's related to Gaiden somehow? Maybe it's a prequel about how Valencia was founded. But I kind of hope it's a standalone title, I've had enough of Awakening messing with the canon.
Also, I think I saw a male Pegasus Knight. And that's awesome.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
^ I'm pretty sure it's it's own thing, I don't think it's any kind of prequel, sequel, or separate storyline relating to the other games. I mean, they haven't really done that before, past Radiant Dawn where it was specifically stated that's what it was from the beginning, and it was pretty obvious.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Well I guess it doesn't really matter to us since they're Japan-exclusive currently. But I probably wouldn't have much interest in getting them anyway, unless they were Amiibo cards or something.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
In a way it kind of makes me want the card game to come here. I kind of wonder how a Fire Emblem card game would play tbh.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Here's some more info.
- Hoshido campaign is primarily aimed at fans who enjoyed the previous game
- this version employs a similar system as Awakening’s world map
- Nohr campaign is more challenging, with limited funds and experience
- it will also feature diverse victory conditions, including “seize”, “break through”, “defend base”
- it also has maps with turn restrictions
- both campaigns also feature many map gimmicks
- the Avatar has a “Dragon’s Vein” ability, which has the power to modify the terrai
- Hoshido and Nohr campaigns were not designed to split the game for no reason
- 5/6ths of the game–follow a completely different story
- cast of characters is the same in each game
- see different sides to them depending on who you side with
- game idea came from the Arran & Samson choice in the first game & then taking it to its extreme
- the idea of making the third DLC path of choosing neither side came up later in development
- if you purchase the download version, you will be asked to choose between Hoshido and Nohr campaigns during Chapter 6
- after that, your choice will be locked
- you'll have to buy the other campaign as DLC
- if you buy both campaigns and want to jump from one campaign to another, you don’t have to start from the beginning
- if the game detects a completed Chapter 5 save, you will be given the option to start from that point
- DLC difficulty is halfway between Hoshido and Nohr
- option to change the difficulty mid-game
- StreetPass communication between the two games
Link
I guess the hard mode in Nohr will be take some time to master and it still sucks how you need to buy the other mode as DLC.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Ugh, I'm still annoyed the other path has to be purchased as DLC, but hey, it's nice that they have the option anyway. I'll likely play through the simpler storyline, then purchase the more complex one as DLC. It seems like the best way to go, and I do need to brush up on my Fire Emblem skills when I start playing again. I'm really happy about the rest of the info.

I don't know why but I love her! Of course, I have no idea what her personality is like, and she isn't the main character, so I don't know how long it'll last. XD

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I can't wait to see how difficult the Nohr path really is. If it's like Thracia 776, that will be fun. Though I guess there still will be different difficulties, so maybe it will be more difficult because grinding is more limited, more enemies, paired-up enemies and such. Maybe even status staves and ballistae return! I kind of want normal Nohr be as difficult as Binding Blade (without the crazy RNG).
But what's with Aqua's pose? She standing like she's wearing high heels when she isn't. She looks as weird as F!Kamui, I wonder what Kozaki is doing. At least it doesn't like like she has two left feet. And that lance looks cool too. If she really is one, I approve of dancers with lances.
