No it shouldn't. At least that's how it comes off to me.TheJumpingJellypopofJoy wrote:Does this game have any continuity from Awakening? I honestly thought it was an entirely new Fire Emblem world.

You're welcome. :3

- Well if that's anything to go by, there's likely some kind of connection. But from what they've said in the past it's supposed to be a new world, so I'm not entirely sure.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
The game is somewhat connected to Awakening. The most popular children's expies
Other than that, they seem mostly unconnected.

They're meddling quite a bit with the Fire Emblem lore, but considering that Awakening brought the whole "multiple universes/timelines" into the series, it doesn't have to be in even the same universe.

- ^ So that explains the characters that looked like Owain, Severa, and Inigo? I saw them unintentionally when searching for Awakening stuff. I saw them and knew they had some connection to those 3. I hope I can dodge most spoilers, I guess one thing isn't that bad.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Outside of spoiler stuff that has to do with the story (I know nothing about it) there is also the Amiibo support, so Lucina and Robin do end up showing up in the game if you use their Amiibo. I mean it's just an extra, but it is another connection to Awakening.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I heard they can also be bought as regular DLC if you don't have the amiibo. So I would assume Tharja will also be a character you can buy as DLC.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
That was so much faster than I thought it'd be. I guess they just needed a little extra time to finish the third path? Either way it should be out launch day in the west, which will be nice.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
More DLC incoming for the Japanese version of Fire Emblem Fates, you can download a map based on Fire Emblem Awakening for free, and 7 others either individually, or in a season pass for ~US$20.
Nice! Looks like it's getting similar DLC support as Awakening. I'll likely just get the 3 story paths though, that's a TON of content as it is.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I just read that light AND dark magic are completely non-existent in this game. Yes, I know in two previous ones light was gone in Awakening and dark in Path of Radiance.
But removing both? Was there a good reason for this? Is anima magic even a part of this game?
Magic was one reason I really enjoyed Fire Emblem. Maybe that's just me but that's a real bummer if they seriously canned the Magic Triangle.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
^ Oh no I'm with you, it's really fun to use magic in battle at least. Maybe there's other forms of it though?
I mean, it's definitely not a dealbreaker for me in any way, but definitely a little disappointed they left it out of this one.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Amazon listed the game as being released in one package with the option for both paths within the game. Could this be true for the west?
I honestly hope it is, it'd probably be a bit cheaper, and it'd be easier to go through both. I'm planning to get both eventually anyway, so they might as well just do it this way.

Well both Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire were both released in one package so I don't see why Fire Emblem can't go that route too.Winters Thief Zero wrote:Amazon listed the game as being released in one package with the option for both paths within the game. Could this be true for the west?
