For some reason when I think of a dancer with a lance; it makes me think of her as a dragoon from the Final Fantasy games where she could pole-vault with the lance up into the sky & come down really QUICKLY using the lance at a downward angle as part of her attack. But, that's my brain at work of course: combining Final Fantasy with Fire Emblem. xp

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Here's the boxart that shows that the game will have amiibo support.
I feel like the amiibo support will be the same as Steam where you scan in older characters to join your team and the new playing cards might also play a key factor.

Ooh Amiibo support! I'm also going to guess it'll be similar to Codename S.T.E.A.M.'s Amiibo support, but you never know what it might do. I just find it interesting it'll have it at all.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Here's some more details.
Fire Emblem If
- Renka sings Aqua's song in the trailers
- the person supplying Aqua’s in-game voice is different from the person singing
- Aqua’s singing voice is unique, possessing a pure and divine quality
- Renka is still a debut singer and her debut single is Aqua’s song
- single releases on 1st July 2015
- comes as a CD for 1,296 Yen or a limited edition CD and DVD bundle for 1,836 Yen
- limited edition comes with two extra MVs and a reversible cover designed by Yusuke Kozaki
Cipher
- rare cards signed by the characters’ Japanese voice actors
- promotional artwork features Marx, Hinoka, Sakura and Leon, Nohr’s “Dark Knight” prince
- there is also a male Avatar with dark blue hair
Source: Link
That's strange how a different character plays Aqua in the game and it's cool how some of the cards will be signed.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I still miss the days when we called Leon "Blarth". Though I really dig his design, I just hope it looks as sensible from the back as from the front. I don't need another Camilla design.
I hope we get high quality bersions of his and the other shown characters' artworks soon. I want that Marx artwork.
Aqua's singing sounds really sweet too. I wonder if it will be as good in the translated versions, or that we at least get a japanese voice option.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Interesting that the person who voices Aqua is different in the music from in the dialogue, but regardless it's cool she plays a pretty prominent role. The game is really shaping up nicely, even if we haven't gotten to see all that much actual footage.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
More stuff has been shown in Famitsu, some things are:
- Phonenix Mode has been added. It's similar to Casual Mode, except that fallen characters return at the beginning of the next turn.
- Weapons durability is removed, all weapons have infinite uses.
- Dual Support and Pair Up work slightly differently compared to Awakening.
- You must pay in game money for skirmishes in the Hoshido path.
- The avatar's name, appearance, voice, gender, face, hair style, hair colour, hair ornaments and facial features can be customised. But oddly, not eye colour.
- The "Dragon's Vein" ability is not exclusive to Kamui, all royal members can use it. Appreantly they all possess Dragon Blood.
- Some classes have been confirmed. Obviously, Marx is a Paladin and Leon is a Dark Knight, and Camilla is a Revenant Knight and Elise is a Rod Knight.

Sounds interesting, I'm even more excited for this game now.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I'm interested by Phoenix Mode, because I'm pretty sure casual is the exact same thing...don't they all reappear in casual on the next turn?

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Casual Mode they're gone for the battle and come back for the next chapter, which is really as easy as they need it to be.

^ Oh I just realized that by "turn" it meant your next movement in the same chapter, yeah that sounds REALLY easy, while I'm not amazing at Fire Emblem, that would make it way TOO easy.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I wonder if you even have to think about your choices if you play Phoenix Mode, at least on the Hoshido route. You could just play as recklessly as you want, as long as the Lord stays alive, because everyone returns on the next turn. But maybe they will at least lose their weapons or not start right where they died? The latter seems kind of likely to me, because another unit could occupy their space while they're gone if they die during the player's turn. I'm not going to play either Phoneix or Casual, but it could open up to a different kind of gameplay that requires much less planning and thinking. I'm a bit sad to see the games simplified, but at least there's the possibility of Nohr making up for the gameplay. But I wonder how difficulty will be handled it future games.Winters Thief Zero wrote:^ Oh I just realized that by "turn" it meant your next movement in the same chapter, yeah that sounds REALLY easy, while I'm not amazing at Fire Emblem, that would make it way TOO easy.
I wish there was a Thracia mode, with Thracia 776 mechanics and gameplay. Fatigue, capture and staves being able to miss surely would make the game more challenging.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
I imagine on Phoenix mode they respawn where they started the chapter and you just have to bring them back to that spot as the punishment.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Today's Famitsu edition confirmed most of what was leaked a few days ago, but also confirmed a few new things.
- Appearently you can't switch back to Classic Mode once you've switched difficulty mid-game.
- Phoneix Mode offers no disadvantages, such as being left out on special endings.
- Even though weapons durability is removed (like in Gaiden), "some weapons may reduce the enemy’s critical rate, while others may be extremely powerful, but difficult to attack twice with".
- Aqua's class in Songstress, and she can sing to let units move again (like how Dancers, Herons and some Bards in older games). She obviously wields lances.
- Ryouma is of the Trueblade class, but is appearently not a 3rd tier class, just a renamed Swordmaster.
- A few new classes were shown, such as Brave Heroes and Oni.
- Like Awakening, if will support Streetpass, Spotpass, local play and internet, though it's unknown what they will be used for at the moment.

I'm even more jealous Japan gets this so early, I can't wait for the release over here.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates
Same here, I mean, I know it'll have a fair amount of text to translate, but it can't be that much. It shouldn't take so long to localize. There's not too much voice acting either...It should at least be releasing at the end of the year.
